hi all, i have not long ago sent in my final bill for my last cashback cheque. I submitted it via their online system on dec 10th and received a sms on the 12th dec stating that it had been approved and would be received in the next 28 days.

now i know my 28 days arent up yet and i know they say to wait till 35 days before contacting them but im just wandering what is best for me to do if it doesnt show etc? And in the meantime while I am waiting is it wise to send a hard copy and get a signature to play it extra safe?

I was going to take out another cashback redemption deal as my one finsishes on the 9th but im a little bit unsure whether i should take now reading everyones problems with them. I have been very fortunate to have had it easy until now but dont know if that would be the same case again in the future.

    Thanks in advance everyone.

  • I have 3 contracts via Mobiles curently. 2 with T-Mobile and one with Orange. Since about 3 months ago they repeatedly confuse the three accounts.

This of course results in emails or letters claiming that the wrong bill has been submitted. Usually they get it right by the third attempt.

I had started including a second document setting out exactly which account, and the contract date of the account that the claim referred to. This worked to some degree, but now they have started sending a cheque for the wrong amount.

So this begs a question. Is their cashback department incompetent, or are they just trying it on?

I suppose it doesn't matter either way. This company can't be trusted at the moment and customers should stay away.

At present, incompetent. I do have my reasons for that conclusion.

Got to agree with that, though their incompetence can work in your favour. ;)
Long may their incompetence continue...........well certain incompetencies!!

Agreed! Quite often, it seems - though it's best not to raise them on here!
  • Update:

I've finally got a reply from Mobiles.co.uk by Delise Gregory. She stated that a cheque did get sent out to me on 14th Nov 2011. They are now waiting to hear if its been cashed or not. If not, they will send me another, which can take up to another 35 days to receive... Fingers crossed! ¬_¬

It would be nice to see the end of cheques this year and have cashback paid direct into our bank accounts.

Why are you expecting this? It's cheque guarantee cards that are going to end (or ended already?), not cheques.

Buymobilesphones can do it and have been doing it for ages, cheques can pose problems as above (so can bank transfers) and look how long it's going to take to sort out.
Not expecting it, just hoping for it. Not the ending of cheques per se, just the ending of cashback being paid by cheque.
