With x number of companies under the single group, its probably easier for them to leave the systrem with one number in place rather than trying to track changes - especially with people having multiple numbers.

They might have a different backoffice system which keeps track of ported numbers but I tend to use order number when claiming cashback online. Last claim went in on 30th nov and got a cheque delivered yesterday 15th dec. Had no texts on any number I have with them about cashback - think they are storing a number which was replaced with a ported one, so texts going nowhere maybe.

Looks that way (storing a number anyway, not necessarily a ported one), which is strange as the number may no longer exist, or could even have been recycled to someone else!! It's only recently I started porting (last year or so) and by luck I still have the number which once was a Mobiles.co.uk contract.
I also use the Order number when claiming.

I prefer just using the order number too myself. When they recently changed their claim form to include mobile number and/or order number - I tried to put in both.

So I entered the order number and current mobile number.
It came back and told me they do not match and told me the mobile number associated with the order number I put in (which was the original mobile number with the new sim card).

Not very secure me thinks this....so I stick to just keeping a list of order numbers/current mobile numbers and using the order number only to do the cashbacks.
  • It appears that the online claim form format has changed yet again from last week. Now they are not asking for your post code and of course they no longer want your DOB. Therefore it is important that you don't !!!! up on your order number or your mobile number ( whichever one you decide to enter )
  • I've just taken out another cashback contract with mobiles.co.uk and noticed that the calculation of months seems to have changed and is contradictory. On the new one, having started in december 2011, the 6th claim is described as being in may 2012 on the e-mail. However on the terms and conditions document it says that month 1 is the month after purchase, making month 6, June 2012. This is also the case on the last one i took out in August where the chart shows month 1 to be the month after purchase. Any comments?
  • I've been expecting this. Stick with the ones at the point of sale, or try holding them to the ones in the email - in which case you'll almost certainly have to sue them later.

Well, 28+28=56 and there is no any cheque.

Could anybody direct me to a LBA template, please? What would be a reasonable number of days to give them?

    Before you ask, I have
    • claim approved (Sep)
    • claim paid (Sep)
    • "I am sorry,... cheque got stack..., I have now released it..." (Oct)
Some Anuj Amin tried to fob me (my wife) off and suggested to wait for 21 days again. Apparently cheques take that long to arrive because their "banking team is in Portugal". LOL.
I was about to send the LBA, but was lucky to get an apologetic and more intelligent reply from Delise Gregory. She honestly admitted that it would take up to 35 days this time to confirm with the bank that the cheque was lost and not cashed before sending a new one and something made me to trust her.
The cheque was delivered yesterday - later than Anuj Amin promised (hardly a surprise), but before the 35 days deadline promised by Delise.
    All's well that ends well...

Got my cheque today which was a nice surprise..........in more ways than one. 17 days in total to complete claim.
    No more claims until Feb.

Good luck, hope you all get what you want.

Where are you looking on the site?

    It still says

"The month you purchased your handset will be month 'Zero'. Month 'One' is your first full billed month. So for example, if you ordered your handset in January and need to claim in month 6, we will need your bill dated July."

    here http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/cashback-chart.html

So if you purchased a phone in December, the first claim is still June.
  • If you read what he says, he is referring to the contradictory t&c which now come after the point of sale. Not unusual for cpw companies.
