Just thought I would let you know the fun ive had with mobiles.co.uk
bought 2 galaxy aces in november no probs at all just have to see how the cashback goes and boy am I worried. In december got another simple phone for wife but they did not port the number didnt at first realise as was waiting for the port when I talked to talkmobile thats when I found out about no porting. They offered us free months if we would keep the number but decided that would cause us cashback probs later on so said no thanks. ordered a new phone and waited in all day to find that they had cancelled order. They told us to do that.then told to return old phone which we did. In the meantime decided to stay with orange and pay more as its not worth the hassle. And now the fun starts to clear the contract, mobiles send me a cheque but its less the first months talkmobile have taken and I wont pay up until I get the balance after many calls to talkmobile to explain they eventually agree to sort it out for me and i demanded a £10 credit for all the phone charges id incurred hanging onto mobiles 10p a minute phone, which they ageed to. So still waiting for the balance only 3 months so far but at least I'm up nearly £300 quid up although i've wasted about 3 hours talking to them

Good hourly rate. But given that their rep tunes in to this forum on occasions, maybe a little daft to broadcast it

its okay I have every intention of paying just waiting for my balance of £37 to turn up, so its in their interests to pay up. Seems like a daft system anyway sending me a cheque to pay another part of the same company

In December I submitted three different claims, one of them a final claim for a phone coming to end of contract.

In Feb I received only one cheque...... So I gave them a call

1/ The phone now out of contract I had submitted the wrong bill. It was now of course too late to submit the correct one

2/ One of the other ones I hadn't informed them of a number port therefore they weren't going to pay out on it. I reminded them that the number port occured in the first week of contract and they had already paid out some cashback. they relented and sent a cheque.

No really good deals around at the moment neither.

IF it was the wrong bill it was your own fault - a) for submitting the wrong bill and b) for not doing something about it in time - you DO have SIXTY days to claim/reclaim AND can do it on-line. HOWEVER, if you did not know which bill was correct it is also possible that Mobiles.co either got it wrong OR (depending on the details) you COULD have insisted they pay regardless.

I think they are now returning to a more efficient mode - but it's early days.

First claims cheque arrived today (14 days in total) and interestingly, the second claim (ported number) hasn't even been acknowledged yet after 10 days!! First claim acknowledged and accepted after just 4 days!!
    Watching with interest.

my first cheque has arrived 2 weeks after submitting it. £67.50 whats the chances of it bouncing? Maybe I should be running a book on it as I keep hearing stories of bouncy cheques. My husband reckons there will be no issue whereas I am betting £50 that it bounces lol Thats customer confidence for you. Saying that I did pre warn him before he got the phone.

Putting my cheque in tomorrow, see what happens, but 100% confident all will be OK.

Had 2 e-mails from them yesterday contents below but no cheque as of today.

We’re really sorry you’ve received another cheque which has bounced. This is really unacceptable and we apologise for the additional inconvenience you’ve been caused. We understand how frustrating this must be for you and assure you this isn’t intentional.

The software bug which caused your replacement cheque to be cancelled has been found and fixed, to ensure this doesn’t happen again. A replacement cheque has already been issued to you and will be with you no later than 6th April.

We’re really sorry again for the delay in your cheque being received and for the added inconvenience caused.

    Yours sincerely

Ok got my first cheque on day 20 of the 28 timetable, although not banked/cleared yet.

HOWEVER, it is the wrong amount!! I have a 12 month contract, £30 per month, with 9 months cashback (the Sept/Oct 2011 Galaxy Ace/Talkmobile Deal).

per the terms/timetable published at the time cashback payable in four amounts, months 6/8/10/12.

So cashback in total should be £270, equal to £67.5 on each claim/payment.

    Cheque sent is for £54.00.

    Anyone else had similar problem?
