Further to my earlier posts eventually got the problems sorted out but it was wrong as expected although I came out the winner only took six months. Got my first cashback cheque yesterday, needless to say it was wrong only £48 and I expected £120 as 8 months free on a 12 month contract should be £20 per month is that correct? Will have to see how long it takes to correct

    Cashback details are at http://mobiles.co.uk/cashback-chart.html.

I've read your previous message. Seems a bit complicated. :)

As the total cashback you expect to receive is over £100 you will have to make four claims: at months 6, 8, 10 and 12.

As you've received £48 I would expect you to receive a total of £192 in cashback duing the course of the year.

    £192 / 8 months * 12 months = £288.

    £288 / 12 = £24. Is that (£24) your monthly line rental before cashback?

I have used the email system twice now, received first cheque, they have confirmed 2nd as valid.

Seems to work fine if followed correctly

I've used their email bill submission many times...about 10...still going on, and never missed a confirmation/payment. So I thought they were the most honest blokes in the pack:A, till I read this forum thread.I shall be careful now, as I have similar story as above few

For my partner's first cashback for the recent contract, they sent cheque worth £45.99 instead of actual £95.99. If I hadn't smelt the rat and took a calculator to find out how much a "9 month free" divided by 4 would be, I would have easily lost(they would have fleeced) £200:eek:Cashbacks start after 6 months or so and we would easily forget what was the deal when we bought and how much should each cheque be.

I thought that was a simple mistake (and they immediately sent the difference and were correct thereafter), but after going through this post.....were they really trying????

how does porting affect cashback claims?
It should not affect your cashback as long as you inform them
For mobiles.co.uk, you can inform them via secure email after logging in to your account with them.
For buymobiles.net,I send the copy of the porting confirmation from your operator along with the bills.
I have only used the above 2 ,without glitch:beer:

    Certainly.
Mobiles.co.uk gives £30 cashback in quidco/tcb.That further reduces your effective monthly cost by £1.25 on a 24 month contract or £2.50 on a 12 month contract:cool:

You are a good example of what I have been saying in the face of some diehards who think that if you follow the rules you don't have to worry - and who criticise me endlessly for warning people that such simplistic suggestions are both dangerous and misleading. The wrong amount paid event is becomming increasingly common of late - as I have specifically warned on my guide (only to be attacked by the diehards for so doing).

Just because you've had one or two - or, yes, 10 - successful claims doesn't mean who can sail along without following ALL the ground rules. I have of late been checking with the people I look after to make sure that they ARE getting the correct payments. How many have slipped through without understanding or realising what the payments should actually be?

Following the groundrules puts you in complete charge (apart from insolvency) - then there IS no way ANY dealer can avoid paying what they should. Fail to follow the guidelines and you are exposing yourself to the whims of the dealer. CPW has a long history in cashback - some of it (at times) very good - and some of it completely dishonest and unacceptable. They slip from one mode to the other unpredictably - so you ALWAYS need to cover yourself before taking each step.

My last THREE claims (on different contracts) were WRONG; two were wrong amounts and the third was incorrectly rejected. Immediate and appropriate steps (by me) ensured that they have all NOW been paid correctly. However, three out of three should be a warning sign to those who don't watch like a hawk.

Not exactly. But I have 9 of my own contracts currently and order for/watch over about the same for several other people. It's fun!
