C'mon xyz123. You are not a newbie. Try searching and you will be overwhelmed!!

    Seriously, summary :-

    Some good deals
    Exceptionally poor customer service/liaison
Part of CPW, so financially stable
You need to follow their t&c to the letter, print & keep everything, stick to the claim calendar and be prepared to go to MCOL if necessary.
They do pay out if you know what you are doing, as you will be advised by regular contributors.

The cashback king is Mobilejunkie and his advice is worth taking. He is currently warning against P4U companies, whose t&c are not on their web site. CPW are the only other big player in town whose financial stability is as secure as you can get and they have 3 or 4 trading divisions, of which mobiles.co.uk are one.

Oh, and you can go through Quid co, but that's another can of worms at present.

    OK, MJ?

Thank you i did search but admit it wasnt as thorough as possible plus i found a lot of threads with long discussions rather than concise actual feedback.

I will read their T&C in detail and will contat MobileJunkie for advise.

Re Quidco, does that work while porting the no. ideally i would like to Stick to O2 (as i get good reception where i live while other networks have problem). I can get PAC from CPW/O2 but do you know if i can do this online while also claiming cashback?

    thanks

If you want it concise then mobiles.co.uk are probably without doubt THE worst company I've ever had dealings with ;)

If the only thing that worries you is cashback then yes they usualy pay providing a) you have not put a foot wrong and b) you are prepared to issue proceedings against them in court

But he has had a sheltered life, though. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

On a serious note, there is a genuine lack of competition in the mobile cashback area at present. Onestopphoneshop - a sister company to mobiles.co.uk - has been a bit quiet on here recently and there is the worry over the P4U companies at present due to their missing t&c.

Other companies' financial stability is a risk - particularly if they are offering out of this world deals. No good seeing a great deal if the company isn't around to pay the cashback.

Why is it people think there is security in household names ???

Woolworths, MFI , MG Rover, Northern Rock, Lehman Brothers, Enron ;)
Just because your a large company doesn't mean to say you are any less of a risk.

When you look at the reorganisation of the CPW group for example TalkTalk was seperated out and floated in it's own right to raise money on the exchange.

    Usually, it is. But....!

Ok. I am still sorting out Phones4u - if I become satisfied that I understand (and can prove) the t&c I will use them again. Unfortunately it is not currently possible to obtain a proper set of t&c from the website and what you may obtain by other means is far from satisfactory - and has to be done individually until/unless they put things right.

As for the Vodafone billing situation; I suspect they had a serious problem with the December bills. Mine arrived over a month late - past mid-January. Meantime I obtain copies from them and successfully made a claim to mobiles.co - but NOT without further hitches from their end unrelated and Mobiles.co manufactured). With Vodafone there should NOT be a missing bill - and I'm a little confused when the person with this problem first stated they didn't get one and then that their "December bill" had some sort of termination letter attached. I don't get those as far as I recall - and have had numerous Vodafone contracts (only two at present because of a sparcity of decent deals). O2 seem to be making a comeback - presumably offering their dealers better commission, leaving to hopeful cashback improvements.

Mobiles.co cannot refuse a copy of the December bill - but I don't understand why there isn't one in this case! ANY bill dated in December with the person's mobile number and name and address would do - any other information is neither here nor there. An internet bill would also suffice. You have 60 days from the bill date to claim, so it's not to late provided it isn't dated at the start of December and you can obtain one without delay; then the issue of trying to submit a January bill won't arise.

In my opinion, Vodafone is the first and urgent point of contact; a December (dated) bill is supposed to be supplied and if they won't supply one immediately I would point out to them that they will be making it impossible for you to claim your cashback (challenging Mobiles.co with a January bill is another matter, but best to go for the thing which mobiles.co cannot even attempt to deny - i.e. and ACTUAL December bill). (sorry - make that cannot successfully deny providing you force them to accept it where needbe!).

Good news - cheque arrived today and banked. So delivered on the 12th Jan. and cheque arrived 26th Jan. - well pleased with that turn-a-round.

Bad news - got back from hols and RM tracking shows sig. Late, but I'll leave this now, so no free stamps..................this time.

Result - well done Lynsey. Are you a Jan billing date? Can't remember. If you are, did you get the VAT uplift? Only pennies but better in your pocket than theirs.

Well, look on the bright side. With a lot of claims to make (and sending them by post) I expect you'll draw Royal Mail blood more often than not!

After all, my "normal" post didn't arrive until after 1700 the other day, so don't think they've improved much! Then again, I suppose I should be grateful it arrived at all; my December Vodafone bills arrived over a month late and I've had things several times longer than that - if they reach me at all.
