totally agree with you ste-ste about how it should be and it should be 4pts for large boxes too!
A always use box+bag for life when I do a big shopping. I've sent complaint emails to Tesco HO CS before and I was told they would retrain the staff at my local Tesco as they were giving me 0pt at check-out or only 1pt at CS

Now, since a few days, the Tesco is giving a standard 3pts to everyone, no matter the no. of bags customers are using, re-used bags and even NEW bags.

I always get 2 points for my bag for lifes.

But I think that's down to the lovely SA I always go to.

So glad I found this...I got so annoyed when I couldn't have a green point when I bought four items and said I'd carry them w/out a bag, and the SA said I couldn't have a point because I wasn't re-using a bag - shoved the items into the gf's handbag; gave us a point :D

i'm getting sick of having to go to CS to ask for my points to be added!
OH and I have been green shoppers since we moved in together and use collapsible crates or recycled bags all the time. when tesco introduced this policy of green points we thought great...but now it's a pain in the backside to get them!

My local Tesco has now told its staff to make a judgement on how many bags a person should have needed for their shopping, not how many bags they actually used. Last week we are only going to get 10 points when we had used 14 bags. She said that the previous week someone had used 12 bags for £50 of shopping and they were fed up with people taking the mickey. I explained to her that we had filled all of our bags so were hardly trying it on and I was not prepared to be penalised. I know it was only 4 points, but I was annoyed with her attitude to be honest.

Yesterday I bought a storage box and some other stuff and I got two points for the bags I used and a point for the box without asking.

I can see this system being removed pretty soon if they don't standardise what points they are giving and for what. I agree with my store that filling loads of bags with only one item is ridiculous and I hope those that have tried it are satisfied now that everyone is going to be penalised.

I think I am going to write up ste-ste's list and put it onto one of those customer service comment cards in store if that's okay.

I went to my local Tesco Metro in my lunch break last week and bought my two boys a doughnut each. I went to the self scan till, and it wouldn't work with them. The SA said that it wouldn't work with multiples, and each doughnut had to be done seperately, and she gave me another plastic bag to put one of my doughnuts in!

I've given up with these Green Points, most of the time I don't get them  (I use Bags for Life) and I'm fed up of queuing up at CS to get them added manually.

In fact I'm fed up with Tescos full stop - Asda here I come.
  • I was so fed up of my local tescos not adding my green points I complained using the online system.

I had a reply back that they had phoned up the manager and reminded him to remind the staff that these points were to be added.

Since then I've not had any problems.

Didn't know there was more points to got if you used different bags - where can I find out more?

  • Last week I emailed Tesco Customer Services to complain that despite always bringing bags with me, I have amassed the grand total of 8 points since the scheme began.

    Here's the response:

    Thank you for your email.

Please accept my apologies for the problems you have experienced with our Green Clubcard Scheme.

We've trained all our checkout staff so that they know the procedure, but sometimes they make mistakes and forget.

Checkout staff/cashiers have also been trained to ask customers whether they have their own bags or if not, explain the scheme even as they offer help with bag packing.

Nevertheless, we will endeavour to always remind our cashiers about Green Clubcard Points. We will also ensure that we do our best to stop these incidents from happening again.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to let us know.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at
    customer.service@tesco.co.uk.

    Kind Regards

    Tesco Customer Service

Same old story again today - 'Null points' ;), though maybe I should be a bit more bloody-minded and ask for my points from now on. I'm not going to get them otherwise as the message is simply not getting through from CS. Well not in my local store at least.
  • There is another thread on this in the Green Money Saving thread

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=283357

This was posted on it the other day, by someone I believe to work at tescos. I've printed it off so that I can make sure I get my points. May be it will help.
