I thought we wouldn't be hearing about Mobileshop after they sorted out their cashback pay out "technical" problems but it seems they are still want you to get those Argos vouchers.
Having made a claim a few days ago, they emailed me confirming that they've received my claim. As usual, they send an email tempting people to pick Argos/Topshop/etc.. vouchers instead of asking for the cash.
However this time, things are different. When click on the link in their email, it takes you to their website. You can see all the vouchers listed BUT there's no option to "Keep Your Cashback". They've removed the link.
So how the heck do we reject those vouchers now?

You don't need to opt out of getting the vouchers.

Your contract is for cashback. If they don't pay you money as set out in the contract you can go down the LBA and MCOL route, and sue for the full amount they owe you.

I definitely will sue if they don't sort it out, I have done it before against them on another contract. I just hate the way they force people to grab those silly vouchers.

    Just contacted their customer service.
Guess what guys, my cashback has been delayed significantly due to the same "technical problems".

    Looks like you're right!!!!!!!!!!!
Hubby contacted them today as payment is due by Friday/ish and was told they couldn't guarantee a payment date despite him reminding them that he has to abide by the T&C's. They are working on a backlog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Looks like LBA soon.
Keep us informed and so will I.

I dumped mobileshop last year and went elsewhere. I sent an email to them telling them exactly why(the alleged 'technbical problems') and that I resented their dishonesty. I was unaware that they had appeared to have solved the difficulties(when did this happen?) but it seems like they are back then?
Also is anyone else still having a good laugh at their customer feedback page? Surely ms must be writing these themselves!

Quick update. Hubby sent a firm/strong email yesterday telling them that if not paid this would be a "fundamental breach of contract". The reply was that payment will be made w/c 14th April and that they aim to pay within 60 days.
I will let you know next week - good luck.

  • I've been waiting on my Dec cashback payment, but can't get any joy from support. I signed up for a mobile plan which was expensive b/c I'd used Mobileshop before and didn't think it would be a problem. It's pretty disheartening to read about them. Are customers actually getting paid, even if it's late? Or are they not paying up at all? What can you do to force them to pay up?

Issue a LBA followed (if necessary) with MCOL.
