Try e-mailing this person and explaining politely that you are awaiting cashback - she is the PA to the Director, Robert Rawlins. She sorted mine very quickly without threatening letters.
lyndsay.drevermarshall@mobileshop.co.ukI didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!
Quidco and Topcashback, £4,569
Shopandscan, £2,840
Tesco Double The Difference, £2,700
Thomson EU261/04 Claim, £1,700
British Airways EU261/04 Claim, EUR12000 -
I think I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I emailed the general address and got a reply back from a specific person, so I sent this reply:
Trading standards have advised me that I give you 10 days to reply to this, before taking it any further. I have been a customer of yours for over 2 years and I would be grateful if you could give me some idea when payments will be made, I do understand the difficulties you are put under, and are grateful for your help.
I emailed this lady again a couple of weeks ago and said how delighted I was with her speedy answer before, so could she authorise the remaining 3 outstanding cashbacks, and again within one hour I had the authorisation email.

Yes I did, - the same excuse as in e-mail, "technical problems". What is LBA by the way ? I am ready for the action ...
LBA=Letter Before Action
In the letter give them your contract details, what you expected to receive from them in cashback and when. Give them a time limit to pay you - normally 14 days from date of the letter - stating that if they don't pay within the time frame you will sue. If they don't pay within the time frame then sue via moneyclaim.0 -
It worked for me and another person on this forum. I was waiting for an entire contract of cashback so maybe that helped.
I would have agreed with your statistics a couple of months ago but I suspect mobileshop have changed. There is no reference to their earlier 'technical problems' on their website, they now sell mostly by refering people to other sites and there are no decent cashback deals listed (meaning they are not loosing any money on the deals they are now selling, a more sensible business model!!).
In any case, it will take no more than 5 to 10 minutes to speak to them online and if they refuse then send them an LBA and sue. I've also gone the LBA route on another contract (before knowing about online chat) and that worked just as well. It really shouldn't be that difficult, especially if they have confirmed all bills received correctly via cashback tracking page, they can't refuse to pay.
It might for for some yes (but for only the few lucky ones) but the large majority of people it won't work. The on-line advisor's work as robots. Its simply a case of them copying and pasting text on the screen for them.

My mobileshop story so far...
posted a copy of the 6 bills by recorded delivery, and one incorrect one, which didn't affect my claims.
Got an email when each one was received.
No payments recieved for first 3 claims, sent an email stating this. Got the auto-email back about gift cards. Sent an email back saying "No thanks, I don't shop at any of those shops, will just have the cash ta". A few days later, got an e-mail saying I will be paid shortly, and sure enough, the money was in my bank account about 10 days later.
Great, I thought. Will use this tactic if the next 3 claims remain unpaid. Which they did.
Tactic hasn't worked as well this time. E-mails alternate between the automated 'gift card' one and a "we have forwarded your concern" one.
Will be going down the threatening to sue/small claims road next I think...
*update*
It appears that a week of me sending them basically the exact same e-mail daily seemed to do the trick. Got the payments a few days later.0 -

For those who still have bills to send in; instead off posting, scan them and send via email to cashback@mobileshop.com. It saves the hassle and expense of recorded delivery.0 -
