This is a data allowance question and not a cashback one - already have that sorted.
Thinking of going for a P1 on O2 from mobileshop, however the tariff says it has a 512MB data bundle. Have queried this a couple of times with them and have received 2 different answers - firstly that it was a complete years allowance, and secondly that it was a monthly allowance. I think they have made a mistake and that it should read 512KB as that is the usual O2 allowance for 12 month contracts but mobileshop remain adamant that their figure/rate os correct.
Anyone else gone for this deal and can confirm what the allowance actually is ?

It is only natural you hear more from customers who have had bad experiences with companies but when it comes to mobileshop I think you will find that they are delaying cashback payments as well as telling porkies to everyone. It is not just a case of you being unlucky. Hell, they have not even bothered updating their cashback comments page which featured glowing praise from supposedly satisfied customers. It used to be regulalrly updated every week or so but has been stuck on 12/04/2007. They know that if they did print anyone saying that they were happy with their cashbacks, nobody would believe them.0

Hey guys,
I have a claim with mobileshop that's 108 days overdue. I've tried all of the usual methods to push them into paying but it seems they're having none of it. They keep fobbing me off with the standard technical problems blurb. I sent them a recorded letter last week (30/7) giving them seven days notice before I submitted a claim with moneyclaim.gov.uk and I've still had not response. I talked to Emily on livechat today and she would not confirm receipt of the letter, or my copy and paste email, saying their systems were down.
Now, the thing is even though I sent the letter recorded delivery the royal mail website is still not coming up with a confirmation. I know that the letter got there however as it was sent in the same envelope as my brother's cash back claim which has tracked on mobileshop's site. Do I need to prove I've given them adequate notice before going to moneyclaim.gov.uk or can I just assume they got the letter and push on with it?
Any help appreciated

No need for you to attempt to discover whether or not they have received your recorded delivery Letter Before Action. (Although important to send a LBA, normal post is sufficient)
In fact if you are going to issue a claim you are best letting the claim run its course before making any contact with them at all.
You have given them adequate notice - plus some days extra (to allow for current postal delays), so you are safe to initiate proceedings.0 -
It seems I spoke too soon. A final bombardment of emails to mobileshop advising them I'm going down the moneyclaim route and result, two emails telling me my money's on the way!Yeah, I know!0

I normally just lurk on this forum, but I feel I should thank everyone for the advice given. My final cash back with the Mobileshop had reached 90 days overdue. I modified AP’s letter (# 43) to suit my circumstances.
The timetable went as following-
3/8/07 Sent letter special delivery (caught postal strike so letter not delivered until 6/8/07)
7/8/07 Email from Mobileshop : Cashback Payment Confirmation
9/8/07 Money in bank account.
So once again I would like to thank everyone and particularly AP for sharing his letter.0 -
I also faced the similar issue. My C voucher was due to paid in March and D voucher in May. I waited till July, and send a letter saying that I am going for Small claims court if I have not received cach back money with in 15days. I also send the same msg through online contact us, and also conveyed my intension to one of their representative though online chat.
Mobile shop paid me with in 7 days, and I got all my money into my bank account.
So try with letter as wll as web chat0 -
Thanks for your letter AP. Sent it via email...7 days later I receive 2 payments. Thank you very much!0
