Hi, does anyone know if I can take my complaint further with KGB, been waiting 3 weeks for a refund of £80 for an stay at apartments, when I phoned to book the merchant said they were no longer dealing with them and to contact kgb for a refund, that was 3 weeks ago and they are now not responding to my emails at all and can't get through on the phone, can I take it to somewhere else to complain.
  • I have had two terrible experiences with KGB deals.
I first purchased a voucher for a Brazilian Blow-dry at Gallery of Beauty in Hounslow. When I went there, I was told that because I don't have standard European hair (it was a Polish salon with Polish staff), it would take longer to do my hair and so I should rebook for the following day. The manager even offered me a space in their staff car park as a goodwill gesture. When I arrived the next day, there was no space in the car park. I called and noone answered, so went driving around to find a a space costing over £9 for the amount of time I was anticipating it to take. When I arrived, the salon manager said that they could not do my hair as I was late, but could pay up an extra £30 to have it done. I felt that they were just trying to make extra cash on top of the voucher, so turned down her kind offer. She told me to contact KGB deals for a refund, but of course this had to be authorised by the salon, which was then refused. KGB deals offered me a voucher for the equivalent amount in 'KGB kash' which I was reluctant to use following this experience.

I did not learn, however and went on to purchase a deal for highlights, trim, wash and blow-dry at 228 Salon in Wimbledon. I called every day for two weeks to book my appointment but noone ever answered. I tried to book online but the system took a month to even acknowledge my signing up. I eventually managed to book an appointment but it was cancelled the day before, claiming that my stylist was sick. I rebooked for a few weeks later, once again I received a text message stating that my stylist was sick. I called to rebook but was told that there were no more appointments available before the voucher would run out and so I would have to contact KGB deals for a refund. I did this and week later received an abrupt email informing me that as the 10 day refund period had passed, they were unable to offer me a refund full stop.

I now have £34 in KGB kash that I am too afraid to use, and another £29 that I have wasted on a service I never received, with KGB deals refusing to refund me!

I am furious at the terrible customer service, the salons who were unable to fulfill their sides of the deal and myself for falling for this twice. Having said that; I have used Groupon many times and continue to recommend friends to Groupon (amongst other group-buying sites)as I have found their customer service to be second to none. I have never had a problem redeeming a voucher or obtaining a refund, in fact if you are unable to use a voucher by the end date, they will refund the value to you, simples! Can't work out why KGB deals are so dodgy but I have certainly learned my lesson and am keen to inform others to avoid them!

Well im in the same boat ordered my steam mop voucher on the 21/5/12 i then got the email off my kool kitchen to pay postage via there link on the same day which i paid

    and guess what no mop!!

ive sent 7 emails to my kool kitchen which ive had no reply

Ive raised a claim in paypal for the mop money and also raised the issue with kgb who have said there looking into it

problem is even when i get a refund for the mop i doubt i can claim for the p&p as its a service

ive had 3 deals now from kgb and only 1 has worked out

    not happy

has anyone had there mop or anything infact from my kool kitchen
Well update I asked kgb whats going on as 6 working days are up and I got an instant refund so cant fault them on that

my only issue now is trying to get back the £4.95 postage from my kool kitchen ive raised the paypal dispute but im not holding my breath

Paypal did refund my P&P in the end :) I have to say that I was a little bit vague on the dispute form & just said that I'd ordered goods & they wern't supplied etc & they didn't actually ask for further details. Might be worth a try.

KGB refunded my CC with the cost of the mop. Quite relieved now.:j

Trying to get a refund out of KGB is like trying to get a blood out of a stone.

The actual voucher was different to the advertised offer and so one day after buying I requested a refund via their online contact page.

They emailed back within an hour to ask why, and I responded immediately. I was well within the refund time limit per their policy so I didn't foresee any issue.

It is now 5 weeks on; and despite the fact that I have emailed them at least once a week copying in all correspondence to date; they still have not confirmed that they will refund me.

I WILL NOT BUY FROM KGB again.

I've never had this problem with Groupon.

Believe me Justine you are lucky it didnt arrive, i bought this and had to send it back as it was the biggest load of cheap crap I have ever had the displeasure to buy. First it has the look and feel of a childs toy it has one setting on/off and as for the steam well I could blow harder. I bought the pitch tv eco steam master and even though that only lasted a year (like most products nowadays) it had different settings and lots of attachments. Sometimes you just have to spend more money than you would like to get a quality product. If you look on the reevoo site there are lots of independent reviews from buyers on steam cleaners.
  • Just looking on the net for any experiences of others with KGB deals as despite calling them about 10 times over the course of about 5 months i can't get a refund for the an offer I purchased for a hotel that went out of business back in February. I bought my deal last year and booked the hotel months in advance, and it was only when I went to confirm the booking a few weekends before we were due to travel I found they had gone out of business, which KGB were aware of, but didn't actually tell us about! We were travelling from London to Scotland and had already booked £400 worth of train tickets so a big inconvenience. And to make it worse they keep telling us they will post us a refund cheque out but it never arrives. They are definitely stalling for time on this, and clearly don't want to give us a refund. This isn't a company that can be relied upon, unlike Groupon and Living Social which i've always had good customer service experiences with.
  • DO NOT USE KGB!!!GREAT DEALS UNTIL SOMETHING GOES WRONG!!
My first dispute with kgb occurred when I bought a russell hobbs kitchenware set from kgb in April. This deal cost 59:99 and comprised of kettle, toaster and coffee machine. Although the packaging was badly bashed all the products initially worked. Then after using the coffee machine a couple of times it simply stopped working. I have contacted russell hobbs but they said understandably that there was nothing they could do as they were not the merchant involved with kgb-they didn't offer any troublkeshooting advice explaining that things rarely go wrong with these machines. Contacted KGB and was passed from pillar to post between kgb and the merchant, kgb then contacted me via email and said the merchant was disputing responsibility and matter would be resolved in 6 working days. After 2 weeks never even got an email. Have tried contacting via phone and numbers suggested here but no answer- just told to contact via email through machine.I have done that but get no response.Am still waiting-they had even put 'resolved' in my personal history concerning issue!I do not have a scoobie what to do
Also I recently bought 3 ultrasound sessions from kgb for 36 pounds and tried tobook the sessions. The company is now no longer trading. Have told KGB they have replied saying they will get back to me in 6 working days, by which time the voucher will have expired. Just like the above deal I am sure they willnot reply.
If anyone has any good ideas I would appreciate them,
Thought about contacting press ie watchdog who have already done a story on how bad they are, citizens advice maybe?
It is the sheer fact that there is no-one to speak to in customer services that is driving me nuts.
