I've been reading this thread and wondering if anyone went for a simfree HTC Desire ... I've had a PAYG phone since the old prepaid option disappeared. I don't want a contract for 18 or 24 months.

    TIA

    :)

i got a simfree unit but still on a contract

    for other desire owners
i bought a 'genuine' case from eBay
i wasnt convinced by its quality/fit
i then ordered this case by an amazon seller http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003HRZRCE/ref=oss_product

    this is the real deal
far nicer fit and the pull up strip is a nice touch

I'm looking to buy the Desire but would like to pay much less than the 400+ mark. I want to run it on PAYG.

Perhaps its a matter of waiting another month or two ...

I like the look of that leather holder, thanks for the link.

    Cheers

    Hi

Just wanted to say thanks to this forum I have avoided buying a HTC Desire from elitesavings.co.uk (which appears to be run by scam artists) and have instead purchased it directly from O2 retentions for £285. I will be using it with my current O2 tariff which has 600 minutes, free texts and free internet for £25 per month, so I am dead chuffed. When the phone arrives I can trade in my old Sony Ericsson W995 for £65 meaning the cost for the phone was only £220, sweet.

Thanks again to all the people on here who helped me make my decision.

Incidentally I was told by O2 retentions (as they couldn't initially get my order to go through) it is possible to purchase the HTC Desire from an O2 shop for £319.

Wow some great deals here, 900 mins and 500 texts @ £22 is great, its normally £35 I think.

Sorry for double post, as for a good retention deal what do I do?

Phone up 150 and say what deal can you give me on a desire, and then ask for a pac code?

hi well i got 600 mins 500 texts unlimted net and landlines for £21 a month 24 months free galaxy s after upgrading on t mobile through a reseller the 1gb/3gb fup doesnt matter AS ITS AN UPGRADE! What you do is you phone 150 tell ask them what deal they could do for you regarding the desire, however you should have other networks deals and what they offer you depends on your average spend! my sister got offered 1200 mins unlited texts and net for £27.50 24 month but she has been with them 18 years and average spend is £60 last bill £110 but i called them again for her as that deal wasnt enough and they said they will match what 3 are offering for the desire so £32.50 2000 mins unlited texts and net!! 24 months

Its on T-Mobile, and the contract has been going a good 9 or so years with a lowish adverage spend, rang up yesterday for an upgrade and they offered me the same deal as they do for new customers :(

Going to ring them later and tell them if they cant do me a better deal then im leaving, if they cant I will get a pac and give them a week before I look into other options.
