HTC Desire - best deals I've found
I've been really thinking of getting an HTC desire, however, I can't upgrade to one yet.
The best deals I've found via google are:
Handtec.com £387
Play £399
Any better deals out there?
I think it might be best to wait a few months before buying to let prices come down to around the £350 mark? The Hero is still around £350 for a brand new one I think.

I have the perfect solution for you buddy.
Three will be selling the Desire (unlocked/unbranded) for £349.99, from the 20th April.
see moderator replies posted on the Three blog @
http://blog.three.co.uk/2010/04/01/htc-desire-launch-date-price/question: Is the unbranded sim free HTC Desire unlocked etc? Same as I would by elsewhere?
Reply: Hi Tom – yes and yes.question: I appreciate everyone is hearing different things from 3 Customer services about upgrades, but it has all gone very quiet regarding the PAYG deal for £349.99. I am willing to buy a Desire and put my existing SIM card in it but all HTC phones on PAYG have been pulled off the 3 website. Will I still be able to get the Desire on PAYG, for how much and when????????????
Reply: don’t worry, the Desire is still available on PAYG. We have had to stop selling some of our high-end phones online which is why you’ll have noticed they’ve gone from the website. The price is still 349.99, and you’ll be able to pick one up in your local 3Store from launch.0 -
Tried to post a link from itportal just now but it won't let me since I am a potential spammer it would appear ;-) .
The topic to search for is "t-mobile-sells-sim-free-htc-desire-349"

That's cool - 3 selling unlocked and unbranded phones with their contracts. I wouldn't expect the stock to last very long.
This deal isn't bad either:

If you're a light to moderate talker (who would pair the Desire with a SIM only pay monthly plan) the £25 per month deal works out quite well at £450 total for the handset and 18 months of phone service.
Me, I've bought the handset SIM free and am using it with 3's £15 SIM only deal. It's rather suboptimal in terms of total cost over 18/24 months, however that's apparently the value I assign to having the ability to change networks almost at will.0 -
Quidco are doing some reasonable cashback deals with Vodafone SIM only plans too:
£100 for a 12 month SIM Only (£20 per month)
£120 for a 12 month SIM Only (£25 per month)
£70 for a 12 month SIM Only (£15 per month)
So it could work out not such bad value buying the HTC Desire unlocked for £350?
My main motivation for buying unlocked is that I might be emigrating a few months down the line, so I don't want to be too committed to a contract.
Anyone know if it's possible to unlock the Desire on a monthly plan, and how much this might cost?
Keep posting best HTC Desire deals here!
Is it me or are T-mobile the only provider offering unlimited internet? Surely this is a big pulling force to go with T-mobile as with a phone like this you're nto going to want to be worrying about extra data costs in the back of your mind.0 -

Anyone spoken to Three about their HTCs?
What do you think a desire will be worth in a month or so?I am qualified lawyer, but nothing I post here should be construed as legal advice. I am simply trying to point people in the right direction as opposed to giving them accurate legal advice.

3 apparently are going to suffer supply problems for Desires thanks to the ash cloud affecting air shipments, and I am sure other retailers will be, too. (Blog post on http://blog.three.co.uk)
Within a month, depends on whether it's been used, but I think a new Desire would still sell for north of £325 if not £350.0 -

That's fraudulent advertising on their part then, surely!0
