they dont have handset say 2 weeks to come, not sure they will have.

Everywhere is out of stock atm or short as htc are having issues delivering and supply has been dry for nearly a month with no signs of it freeing up any more soon.

Has anyone had any problems upgrading to the HTC Desire with orange? I phoned up orange just over three weeks ago and was told by retentions that they could do a deal for me for £25/month 300 mins with unlimited texts and internet on a 18 month contract. Was told there was none in stock but they were getting some in within a few days and they would phone me to let me know. I did not hear anything from them so decided to phone back with reference number I was given. I was then told that the stock they had got in had all gone and I was now in a queue waiting for the next batch to come in. This has now happened to me five times and like I say has it been over three weeks since my initial call and feels like they are just palming me off all the time. Might now go and move anyway to another company just coz I'm fed up with the waiting.

I've been in a very similar situation, but reluctant to leave as I feel I have some "haggling power" with orange. But they keep saying - Oh, you just missed it! Hmmmmmm...

I went for the Desire with mobiles.co.uk after T-Mobile could not offer me a reasonable upgrade from my G1 after 18 months. I was on 100 min/txt + data at £20 a month so wanted something similar.

On mobiles.co.uk, they offered the Desire for £19.99 with 600 min, 500 txt + data on 18 months at £30 a month. They did £50 Quidco which tracked fine, and 5 months at half price. All in all, this was only £15 more than the 100 min/txt deal on their site. It's much more minutes than I initially wanted, but for < £1 more it seems worthwhile, assuming all the cashbacks track OK!

Ordered Tuesday afternoon, delivered Wednesday afternoon, so good service for me.

I ordered a Desire from mobiles.co.uk on Tuesday, delivered next day, so they are out there. £20 for phone, 18 months at £30 with 5 months at half price + £50 Quidco. 600 min, 500 text + data (1GB) on T-Mobile.

- Free Desire
- 600 mins
- 500 txts
- free internet bolt-on (1GB fair usage)

18 month contract for £30 p.m., which after the £160 cashback (claim from Beepy) and £40 from quidco makes it just over £18 p.m.
