If I phoned retentions and said I wanted to buy-out the remaining 2 months of my contract, would they be able to offer me a decent deal? I wanted 600min, unlimited texts, internet and a free/highly subsidised phone for around £25-30pm on 18m.
That's what I want, end of contract is 10 Aug can upgrade 10 July.
I really want the 1200min 1000text and unlimited Data I have now for £27 (though 200 text would be plenty),alas don't think that's going to happen0 -

I think the chances are pretty slim for that to be honest. I was actually out of my contract period, and phoned a total of 4 times to retentions and spoke to 4 different people. They were all very adamant that they could not do better than £35 a month for the desire on 18 months, and that is with paying £49 for the phone. When I told them it was available cheaper with Vodafone, they said they would have to give my PAC code if that was the case, as they just weren't able to match it.
All 4 of them told me the same thing...
If you don't want to pay the phone, then it would cost £40 a month for 18 months....
Hope this helps.0 -
I guess buying the Desire direct from O2 for £285 then getting £100 quidco on taking out a £20pm simplicity deal is the best deal over 18months then?
Total contract cost over 18m provided quidco pays out = £545
Effective monthly cost = £300 -
There are plenty of 18 month contracts with the handset free out there...0

I'm hunting for a HTC Desire in black on contract sub £30 with a free handset. Anything 300min+ with unlimited internet.Don't use a load of text and mins but definitely want unlimited internet.
Best deals i've found so far:
orange website
Orange Panther 30 - 24 months, unlimited texts, 400 anytime minutes, internet, email, sat nav, photo messages £27.50 - handset is £50 but I reckon I can haggle that on the phone - i'm an existing Orange customer out of contract.
other one is
buymobilephones.net
free handset T-Mobile £25 inc. Internet
600 cross-network mins + 500 texts + Unlimited data "1gb fair usage" • 24 months
£ 25.00 a month
3 Months 1/2 Price by redemption
Effective Cost £23.44 a month
Has anyone got a better deal than this?
Also - will the orange and t-mobile default software be different? Anyone got a HTC and can comment?? I've never used any other network than orange - am i making a mistake leaving them for a cheaper deal?? I've just noticed the 500mb limit on orange which is worrying...mmm.0 -

yes i would have thought the software orange would put on the phone would be different from what t mobile would put on,
the site you mentioned may do the desire unbranded which means the phone wont have t mobile logo on and the tmobile browser etc0 -

Hi there
I've got 2 phones on T-Mobile up for renewal.
We’ve been looking at the desire (my wife loves it)
Best I’ve found is on beepy
300 mins
300 text
Plus internet
£15 per month
But £99 for the phone
Plus £40 back from quidco
For 24 months so £459 - quidco ( if it pays ):j
T-Mobile has offered the same but no quidco plus £140 for the phone.
For 24 months so £ 500
300 mins is more than enough for us.
You guys seen any better?
Thanks mike0 -
