Jazzyjeff, do you think Quidco will be OK even though your link is for an affiliate email flyer. Has it tracked OK?
  • I have seen the Desire for free from £25 on the Virgin website but it is for customers already with them.

The thing is when I try to get it they say that it is not available unless I get it for £30 for 24 months.

Should they not do the deal on they site or I can go into a Virgin shop and get it for £25 for 24 months but will have wait until Wednesday before they get them in  ;)

Noticed some posts saying fair usage for Internet data is 1GB for phones on T-mobile, this seems to say it's 3GB for Android phones -
Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone on an Android phone

You'll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck. Remember that you can only use your internet on your phone Booster in the UK and you can't use your phone as a modem or use web'n'walk Plus for peer to peer file sharing, or making internet phone calls. *Internet on your phone comes with a fair use policy of 3GB a month. We'll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our internet on your customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much. As your phone is always connected to the internet, if you remove your internet on your phone Plus Booster from your account you'll automatically be charged up to £1 every day. That £1 a day rate has its own fair use policy and other legal stuff, which you can see here: t-mobile.co.uk/services/uk/fairuse/#fup5.

yeah there's a page somewhere that says Android is special and gets 3gb. Or was at least. At the time I thought it was something HTC negotiated as part of the Hero/G1 deal.

I've been told by T-Mobile that 3GB applies only to phones bought from them directly, 3rd party reseller contracts get only 1GB.

oooh I have the desire in my hands now! went into phones4u and there it was, in stock no probs so I bagged it up quick and off I went.
not sure its a brilliant deal - free phone, 100 mins, unlimitd texts and internet at £25 a month with free insurance for 4 months. (24months) - but should meet all my needs and I couldnt get it for less than £30. the lure of having it in my hands straight away was enough!

Has anyone gone for the mobiles.co.uk vodafone offer?

It's free phone, 24 months, £30 a month (actually £35 when you add on internet) - the offer is 16 months half price line rental by redemption. If you remember to claim all the money back, and you go via quidco, then it all works out at £22.91 a month.

I suppose the e2save Orange offer described by jazzyjeff works out cheaper, but I've never used e2save. What would you go for?

I've been looking for a desire deal, and came across this thread after ordering mine last night. :)

Some offers i've found that look good are:
from mobile_phone_checker co uk There is the following vodafone deal:
£55/month for 24 months with 17 months free from mobiles.co.uk
which works out at £16.04 although I don't think that includes any data. 3000mins and 3000 texts
Interestingly, I can't find this deal if I go direct to mobiles.co.uk

Although I was tempted by this, i've never done a cashback deal before so thought it would be ver expensive if I messed it up.

The deal I went for is:
£30/month 24month Orange Panther 30 with 15 months half price.
£18.75/month on average 400mins unlimited texts unlimited data.
    mobiles.co.uk

I'm currently on a £10 simplicity deal with o2. They didn't offer me anything at all when I asked for my PAC code, but now I see on here that people were getting the phone with no contract for £289
Is it worth me trying again with o2, even though I have already ordered from mobiles.co.uk

Also, does anyone know how long it takes for quidco to track?

This is the upgrade offer I've had from Vodafone:

    £25pm (300 mins, unlim txt, 500mb internet), 24 months - free handset.

Usually the only way to get the handset free from them would be on 18@£35 or 24@£30 (all with far more minutes than I need), so I went for the 18@£35. After seeing the deals people were getting on here I called up to cancel the upgrade so they agreed to let me have the phone free on a lower contract.

Considering I don't have to faff about with pac codes and redemption deals now I'm quite pleased.
