"1 would never take a 24 month contract
i was even weighing up the pros and cons of an 18 month contracts vs sim free"
Never? What if it was £5 a month? I dont think the deciding factor is the contract length, you have to weigh it all up- total cost vs what you are actually getting. I dont particularly mind being on a 24 month contract if its a fantastic deal. I've been with my provider for 12 years and am very happy with what I get so not being able to jump ship for 2 yrs isnt an issue. Not being able to upgrade/get a new handset is however but I can live with it if im getting a great handset now.
no wat a mean?0 -

Just a quick question. I'm looking at the HTC Desire and looking at changing provider...when I get the pac code, do I need to wait for my new phone & contract to be delivered before I can hook them up, or is it when the new contract is set up that the code is used?
As in, as they've got a shelf life of 30 days, would I run out of time if the Desire took ages to be delivered?Aiming for that elusive 'debt free' by Christmas 2012

depends what network you are moving to, some only allow you to port at the point of sale, some give you 30 days and some you can port whenever you want during the contract0 -
What's the best deal from "3" for the Desire?
I'm just over 2 months away from giving my 30 day's notice and requesting my PAC
Their initial offer was the bog standard terms for £27.50 x 24 months!
I enquired about a refurb, but they can only offer that in the last month of a contract, even then it would be £25 month!
So looks like i'm gonna leave it for a few weeks see if the offers get any better. Otherwise i'm moving networks...Laters

Hello
I'm with three and my 18 month contract is due up in January(Three have told me I can upgrade or negotiate in October). I've got the n97 and I'm sick of it and would love the htc desire.
I have an idea and I would like to see if you lot think its a good idea:
1. Purchase the htc desire for £285 through my sisters o2 contract
2. In October/January downgrade my plan to a £10 a month sim only tariff(Do you think I could negotiate more than 100 minutes they give as standard?)
3. Therefore over 18 months the phone + tariff would work out as £25.83 a month.
Should I go with this or wait to see what three can do for me? Going by the thread three would only offer something like this on a 24 month contract which is a big no for me!
Thanks in advance!0 -
I've been trying to get a decent retention deal from 3 and was getting nowhere but this morning I was offered the HTC Desire with 1200 x-net mins, Unlimited texts (3000) Unlimited 3-3 mins (5000) and Unlimited 'net (usually 1GB but I was offered 2GB) plus messenger and stuff with NO upfront handset cost for £21/month to be delivered tomorrow which I thought was ok.'Still dealing with my debt, but I'll get there. Keep smiling.'0

I've just requested my PAC from O2. I want a HTC desire but am only a light user by most standards upto 400 mins, 400 texts and I'm hoping for some internet/email now (don't currently have it and it's very annoying).
Fingers crossed the PAC code comes soon then.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I pre ordered my Desire from T Mobile in March and got this 18 month deal.
£129 for the phone
£20 per month for unlimited internet 300 minutes 300 texts 60mins Australasia booster.
This deal was pulled off from their website in about a month, I still think it was one of the better deals direct from the operator.Nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. - Alex Supertramp0
