anyone updated?
Yes, I have.
The download and install went quickly and smoothly. The phone back got pretty warm, so there is obviously some intensive processing going on. With this in mind, the recommendation would be to have the phone on external power and on a WiFi connection while the update is being fetched and installed.
‘About phone’ now shows
Android version – 2.2
Software number – 2.12.110.2
This is not the same as the 2.10.405.2 software number that the HTC website refers to. I do not know the reason for this discrepancy. My HTC Desire is on T-Mobile.

just seen the desire on vodafone.
phone is free on 18 month contract, 600 mins, unlimited texts, 1024mb download, £35 per month. is this competitive?
also the google nexus one is £59 for the phone on the same tariff above. is the nexus one basically a desire?0 -

Very tempted to go for the e2save deal myself.
This offers: 300 mins, 500MB internet - £25 per month.
24 month contract. Phone cost free.
E2save offers £150 cashback on this, making the effective cost £18.75.
About £17 with Quidco/ TCB.
Seems like a good deal, if you're brave to get into a cashback deal.
But as ever, I suppose if you follow their T&Cs to the letter, theres always a good chance you will end up getting most of it back. E2save being backed up by carphonewarehouse.0 -
