but I'm 'all souped out' now and just can't face any more!
:rotfl:I too feel I have OD'd on soup lately.
Last week there was a meeting at work and I couldn't walk through and get my soup out of the fridge in the kitchen, it got to 2 o/c and I was very hungry, so went up to our local health food shop and got a salad bowl. I really enjoyed it so since then I have been making my own up, leaves at the bottom, whatever else I have (toms, peppers, cucumber) on top, then in one corner of my little lunch box coleslaw, opposite that some couscous and down the middle whatever leftovers I have meatwise or a bit of grated cheese or tuna or...anything really. Could also put some leftover pasta in.
Have really enjoyed making up these salad bowls and they cost a lot less than the £2.80 the shop were charging!
Although you can't really make them days in advance its easy to have the stuff in the fridge and just put them together the night before.whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Mix and chill - will keep for 3/4 days in the fridge0 -
How about quiche with salad? Not quite as cheap as soup, but very tasty and cheaper if you don't use meat in them.
I like salad's but keep a lot of it at work in the fridge, so it's less hassle as I don't have to get it ready in the mornings, just prepare it at work.:hello:0 -
I have recently bought the ingredients to make sushi - you can make those up in advance and they are a scrummy, indulgent lunch
(mind you, I have somehow lost the rice, no idea how, and it doesn't work with normal rice... I tried)

grilled/roasted veg salad with orizo (bad spelling but I mean the small pasta which looks like rice) or couscous. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
