My friend at work subscribed to Graze.com, they send you a box of snacky bits of fruit and nuts once a week and you "graze" at your desk rather than eating naughty foods. I have attempted to do the same (without paying Graze £3.99 for the pleasure!) I buy a big bag of mixed nuts and fill up a small tupperware box each day. sometimes I might slice up an apple and mix it with orange segments. If I leave this on the desk, I usually snack on it throughout the day. Might be something work thinking about.
If you have a toaster at work, you could always have toasted sandwiches, I use the toaster bags from the £1 shop.

scrambled eggs take about 1 minute in the microwave, you could have that on toast.

Have you tried the Ainsley Harriot soup, its absolultely georgeous, very filling

Do you have a toastie maker at work, make your sandwiches at home and just toast them at work.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Anything :D Hot pasta/rice/bean salads? Leftovers? Stews? Do you stir the soup while cooking it? I find that helps get it hotter. Have it with a big crusty roll/scone to make it more filling.

no toastie maker but there are toasters - often do bagels and philly
  • I'm another who takes anything for lunch - homemade soups, leftovers from night before, pasta, rice, jacket spuds (pre-cook at home then microwave), salads, hard boiled eggs, beans/spaghetti on toast.

I know the feeling about having to avoid student's yummy food! I have the same issue.

  • A mug will hold a portion of soup so pour your soup from the container into the mug and heat it in that.

I have a box of oatsosimple, some mixed fruit and a jar of mixed spice in my desk. Throw it all in the mug with some milk and sugar and bung it in the microwave. Nice fillyouup snack that will keep your energy levels up.

Long time lurker on this wonderful forum, and have saved £s!

Have been having gorgeous hm soups for lunch for the past few months, but I'm 'all souped out' now and just can't face any more!

Now that Spring is round the corner, I'm looking for light lunches (for 2) that cost as little as soup and can be made in advance to last for 2 or 3 days.

Please does anyone have any suggestions?
