We are going round in circles

You need a technician to come to your house (free). When you book one, ask for a free router too. They can only say no.

As robt says you need someone out from Virgin.

However be aware you will be asked to connect your PC/laptop directly to your cable modem before anyone in support will book a visit. So far you have ignored all my requests to do this and have concentrated on the router.

As I also said on the previous page however the OP seems to want to go around in circles.Being an ex Service Tech I know what can cause her issues & how to get them resolved even tho it is something you cannot diagnose on an internet forum.

Unlike ADSL broadband, finding a fault on cable is'nt as easy as phoning your ISP,She needs a engineer to test her line & physical set up from cab to pc.

No you didn't - you tried to do the speedtest with your main pc directly connected to the router.
    brilliant thankyou.

here are the speed test results directly plugged in from the pc to the router(unsecure)

The cable modem is not the router - unless of course you don't actually have cable.

The cable modem, if you have one, is a small blue/black box into which the white cable from Virgin goes. From there an ethernet cable is attached to the router (Belkin).

Do you have this or not?

If not what is the Belkin plugged into - i.e. not the PC but the other end.
  • ^above i keep mixing up the cable and the router (what ever you said to have directly plugged in while doing the speed test i did)
yes we have a cable modem.

im sorry if im not being efficent enough but i am trying all these things sugested.

i need to fix it its too anoying.

he said it costs alot to get the virgin support people out? and they wont come out for nothing.

He is talking rubbish. It is free.

I think you need to realise that you either have very slow Internet, or he gets it fixed by an engineer. We can't do any-more for you I'm afraid.

The only time you'll get charged by a service tech is when you are found to have caused the fault yourself. If it's a fault with the equipment or line, you wont be charged!

And I'm speaking from 9 years of experience AS a NTL/VM Service Tech & I agree 100% with robt & jem16 on this.
