The Saltburn exchange is, and probably will be for some time, somewhat of a broadband backwater compared to Redcar, Guisborough or Boro with cable being your only option for the faster speeds (8Mb+).

The unusual thing though is Saltburn having Virgin Cable at all when it only has 2,500 homes and normally this would not even be enough to attract an LLU operator like TalkTalk, Sky, O2/Be let alone Virgin Cable. Virgin Cable normally aren't interested in exchange areas serving much less than 10,000 homes. There must be some kind of local history here related to a maverick local cable company (before all the mergers that resulted in Telewest and NTL and finally Virgin) that explains how Saltburn came to have cable tv or broadband in the first place. I presume that you will know that history juninho as a local telecoms/IT expert?

Typical, I've only just come across this thread and I live in Saltburn. Could have saved you a whole lot of hassle! Glad to hear that all is OK now. Anyway, if you need any assistance in the future give me a shout and I'll see what I can do as that is my profession. Whatever you do don't use Easy PC on Dundas Street, they're rubbish and as my friend found out to his cost "they're not very good with laptops" after charging him £80 to completely !!!!!! his laptop up.

If she's on cable, then her VM services wont be connected to any BT exchange as cable works differently.
