Ok what happens when you click on Default Server as opposed to My Grabit?

What you are showing there is the menu you get when you right click on default server. I mean to left click (i.e. select) on Default Server and let it download its list of newsgroups. The click on All Groups(Default Server) tab in the right hand window and look for virginmedia.support.braodband.cable.

I can see he screen grab you posted its working and downloding all the groups lists

when that done you will end up with this

mine doesnt show the group list. it jsut does whats asbove

above the list type copy this in the search box above the list
virginmedia.support.broadband.cable

you should be left with only this in the list them click it and subscribe

in the last screen shot you posted it wont have shown the list because I can clearly see its still downloading them

it says its downloading them but it doesnt downlaod them. sorry it took so long to reply never saw youd replied.


should i work on getting my network secured and see if that helps my internet problems?

do i need to buy a new belkin box concidering the one i own only supports WEP

How long have you given it to download?

It's not going to help since you have the same problem when you are only connecting via the modem directly.

I'd get the internet connection working before you think about a new router.

I think you need to bite the bullet and get on the phone and get the engineer out. Phone 150 on your cable phone.

will tell my Dad Yet again to do just that


no need to reply i will keep trying grabbit, will wait longer and see if anything downloads.

and will try and arange for the specialist engineer to come and have a look
