Hi , Sorry to be a nuisance, but I cannot for the life of me work out how to post a 'post' or indeed a new thread. The help pages say there is a 'new thread link at the top & bottom of the page' but I don't have it / see it.
If this message goes anywhere .. this my query.
Regarding Step 3 in the revised article on reclaiming bank charges - the point at which one approaches the branch to request a refund - Should it be difinitively, one's LOCAL branch, as opposed to the branch where the account was opened ? Or both ? Answers gratefully received.0 -
Bank: HSBC
Amount Claimed: £415
Amount Received £415
Story
Sent the first letter and got the standard response from Colin Langdale. Sent my second letter, sticking to the timescale that I had set out in the first letter. Received a reply within my 14 day deadline offerin a full and final settlement.
If only my claim with Lloyds was going as smoothly as this!0 -
Hi all, sorry if i'm in the wrong forum, but just a quick question regarding reclaiming monies.
I had a store card from ge capitol and finally after nearly 6 years managed to pay of the £240 debt! I actually closed the account in October just gone, i was just wondering if i could still reclaim the charges even though the account is now closed.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Kindest regards m :j0 -

Hiya :hello:
Yes you can still claim for this even though it is closed but just make sure when you send your letter to them that you include as much information as possible so they can find your details.
Good luck0 -

Got copy of acknowledgement of service letter on which HSBC's solicitor has indicated that they intend to defend all of the claim. This was 8th of Feb.
Do I need to do anything now or just wait? Not sure what happens now. I am really scared about this!
After reading hundreds of posts and mostly the HSBC ones, it seems this is the normal for them to do. It appears they put in a defence, because they get an extra 28 days to play with, then they write and make you an offer.
I have a claim in with HSBC for £3666.68 and I have filed online with MCOL,
they 'acknowledged' mine 19/02/07 and I would'nt be too worried if they filed a defence.
I think i would read a lot of the posts and see if it makes you feel better.
I may be completely wrong, but honestly it seems it ok for them to put a defence in.
Good Luck.0 -
Hi , hope that I'm using this correctly as I am a first time user. I have a question:Why is there a time limit of 6 years on reclaiming bank charges? I have statements going back 20 years with unauthorised overdraft charges on them, I'd really like to claim this money back-can i?0
