HSBC
CLAIMED: £1032
OFFERED £870
Sent the 1st letter template on the 2nd Jan. Got a response last week, the usual, "we're looking into your case".
Got a letter from them today, offering 870. Will accept that. Not bad for filling in a few spaces on a word template.
Thank you MSE.

Amount - £75 charges + £35 for online claim
Although it was only £75 I still had to go as far as issuing a claim through
the website https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk.
It was worth it in the end I got my charges and the costs paid back.
I've since been told that I was entitled to claim £5 for each letter I had to write.
Is there anyone out there who can verify this, it would be useful for anyone else wanting to claim.
Total £752.00 inc.interest and costs.
I went to the Online Moneyclaim & within 4 days I had received a cheque for the full amount.
I believe the Banks will try to intimidate you with the content and tone of their letters back to you.I did feel for a split second that I might be wrong in claiming.Thankfully I kept looking at the moneysavingexpert & Consumeractiongroup, which reaffirmed my determination to carry it through.
Many thanks to everyone who has left messages of support on both sites!!

I have read 59 pages with pure delight and have now sent off my dpa letter to lloydstsb.
I was wondering though a few years back i had credit cards and store cards which i failed to pay and have then been passed to debt collectors.
The first one was halifax and i am sure nearly 50% of what i am being chased for is charges.
the second one is capital one and the other two are store cards(ge capital.) the se ones i am paying off to debt collectors.
can i still pursue the original lenders of these cards although they dont own the debt anymore and are 3rd party debt collectors legal.
in scotland(EH3)
thanks and good luck to everyone:D0 -

You can reply saying you will accept the amount as partial payment but will now be proceeding to court for the remainder.0 -

Halifaxbeater wrote:Does anybody know whether I can claim back charges from my mortgage account?
I put my house up for sale due to my divorce and stopped paying the mortgage saying I would redeem it once the house was sold. Obviously my mortgage company hit me with late payment charges etc. The real kick in the proverbials was when they charged me 1% or £1800 because I forgot to give them 1 months notice that I was redeeming the mortgage...ouch.
I've just been taken to the cleaners by my ex-wife and have been left to pay off her debt too...I need help, please.
