I'm sure i just posted nut it appears to have dissappeared!!!!!!

Please can anyone advise on my next course of action.

The 14 day deadline for my second letter to HSBC is up on the 20/01/2007 and i was all set to file my claim first thing Monday morning. However on the 17/01/07 i received a letter from their customer services department stating they were looking into the matter and would contact me as soon as their investigations finished.

Is this standard procedure for HSBC? Should i allow more time, or file my claim as planned?

    Many thanks for your advice!

    Oliver.

  • I am new to this discussion board, but have been reading with interest. I just wondered whether it is just personal accounts you can claim back? I had a Barclays Bank business account until recently and they have charged me horrendous amounts for going overdrawn. Can I send a letter about my business account but also can I still claim back charges even though it has already been closed since last year.
  • Business accounts thread :)

    Hello,
Can anyone help? I'm currently at the stage of taking RBS to the small claims court. I'm filling out the questionnaire and as the registered 'service address' of the RBS is based in Edinburgh, the moneyclaims website came up with this:

"The address details you have provided are outside of England and Wales.

The Defendant must have a service address in England or Wales otherwise you can not use Money Claim Online.

Click the Select button to continue with the address details you entered, but be aware that the claim will be rejected by the court and you may lose your issue fee. "

My bank branch is actually based in Aberdeen but I am living in London. Will the court reject my claim and will I lose my issue fee?

Any help would be HUGELY appreciated.

    Kind regards
  • Claimed against Halifax on behalf of my daughter,
    Reclaimed £614.50
    Amount Paid £572

Unusual for a student she had kept her bank statements so we did not need to ask for them. Wrote to Halifax on the 5th December claiminh the £614.50.
Received a reply on the 7th December from local branch....sorry not happy etc., but will forward to Customer Relations Dept., Leeds. Letter received
21st December......gesture of goodwill etc., offering £572 please sign the
attached acceptance doc. Sent back on 3rd January, letter back 16th January informing her the money had been transferred into bank account.

Trying to reclaim £207 charges against Halifax for Visa card, basically no to
claim, letter 2 sent threatening Court Action, spoke today giving them the
opportunity to repay before filing claim, response was go ahead.

Many thanks to Martin for his tremendous work in highlighting these unfair charges.
  • Hi
I wrote to the Royal Bank of Scotland using the template letter without the interest on the 22nd December 2006. Since then I've been sent letters from three different departments within this bank asking me to give them more time to look into my case. It has now been four weeks. Should I now send them my letter with the interest added, or should I give them more time?
    Thanks
