I am so happy started my claim with 1st letter on the 12th December they sent me the bla bla letter of they are looking into my complaint and would reply within 10 working days. They then sent me another letter on the 4th January saying they are still looking into my complaint and would reply within 10 days.

I finallly received my offer letter for the full amount this morning hooray !!

My advice to everyone would be stick to your guns and go for glory, Halifax next for me.

Thanks Martin your a star !

Hi there, Just sent off claim to BOS for £1730, sent 1st letter off today so hopefully i can get all these charges back. I'll update with what response i get.
Thanks for all your help. Great site.
  • Does 'the last 6 years' mean the last 6 years to date or the last 6 tax years? If the latter, does that include the current tax year, or would it be possible to claim for the 6 previous tax years?

HOPE IM POSTING THIS IN THE RIGHT SECTION! i HAVE JUST RECEIVED OUR LAST 6 YEARS STATEMENTS AND THE CHARGES TOTAL OVER £7,500 IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS TRIED TO RECOVER THIS MUCH AND WON? THE BANK IS NAT WEST AND WE CLAIM WILL THEY CLOSE OUR ACCOUNT? COS WITH OUR CREDIT RATING WE PROBABLY WONT BE ABLE TO OPEN ANOTHER! I'D APPRECIATED ANY ADVICE. TODAY IS MY HEAD OUT OF THE SAND DAY AND MY START ON DEBTBUSTING COS MY NERVES WONT HOLD OUT MUCH LONGER. LOOKING FORWARD TO CHATTING WITH YOU ALL. :o

Banks can and some do close accounts so you have to be aware this may happen. Read this thread regarding claiming more than £5,000.

and can I ask you to take off the caps lock when posting as it makes your post easier read if its not all in capitals :D

The six years goes back from the time you send the letter asking for the information/statements, so 6 years from January 2007.

my only question whilst im reading literally 100s of posts is can i claim late payment fees from credit cards both current and closed and do i use same letter tactics
    thank you

  • Yes you can, just change the wording slightly to read late payment fees or whatever you c/c calls them.
  • Hi all,
Been looking through lots of posts but not seen many people with success stories from abbey (who i am about to reclaim from),has anyone got experience with abbey, also i have a visa electron card and if abbey close my account i dont know where else i can get electron from plus my credit rating isnt that good so i am limited to where i can open a new bank account.
