i dont know if this is the right place to put this but here we go.
i have online banking with barclays bank which my wife went to transfer £200
pounds from her acc to mine she put it to my E saving or thought it had,it had come up with the same sort code as our bank,so it meant it went to someone else's acc who we dont know.
we rang barclays straight away and the said they would reverse it and the money would come back.
how wrong we was,it meant we would go over drawn which you guest it they charged me and said they are not allowed to take the money back from whos acc it had gone into without there permission.
they sent a letter to the person and said if they dont reply we lose our money and they gain the £200 our loss.
we seen the other persons acc which had wait for it £37000 in it poor old me
no money and now £200 overdrawn.
so if they can't take money back from an acc how can they be allowed to take money from mine.
BARCLAYS BANK you can guess what i think of them.

Hi, I hope someone can answer me this. I asked Bimingham Midshires for details of all default charges i had paid on my mortgage account with them They have sent me every shred of personal information they hold on file about my account. Included in this is their complicated printouts of activity on the account. It doesn't actually state late charge fee or anything that obvious but i have noticed loads of amounts added on to the account & they are classed as assess fee & capitalisation. They come as a package & are both for the same amount each time - £35.00, then going up to £40.00. My question is does any one know if these are the late charges if so are they both fees or just one of them. On another lots of lists the same amounts are there with XD at the side, does any one know what this XD stands for. Many Thanks, SUFC0

Has anyone tried claiming against A&L and not had to go through the small claims procedure??? I cannot find any posts anywhere!
I have already got as far as sending the second letter, even offering them to pay back just the charges, minus the interest, but they still refuse to pay up saying that "having reviewed the circumstances surrounding my complaint, they can confirm that the charges have been raised in accordance with the charging policy with the terms and conditions of the account". But they "do appreciate" that their decision may be disappointing.
Do i just go for the small claims route now to see what happens? as i do not fancy having to appear in court??? what would i do? what would i say???
Any info, advice would be much appreciated.0 -
Hi there,
Could anyone help? Have been reading up on re-claiming the charges but have not yet seen any for the Clydesdale Bank, Scotland. Also I will be looking to claim from GE Capital but the accounts closed a couple of year ago & I don't have the account numbers. Can I still contact them.(I have the dates when accounts were opened and closed0 -

I have sent my letter off to BM for my Mortgage account that i did have. I am waiting for the statements to come through. If you find out what your charges are i would be grateful if you could let me know, as i suspect i will get the same information. Thanks Hannah:rotfl:"Penny Pinching Winch"

Phone them and ask as they are the people who know what the abbreviations on their statements mean.0 -

Clydesdale thread.
Send your name, address at the time and your date of birth for any closed account and they should be able to find your account.0 -
Bank: LloydsTSB
Amount Reclaimed: £405
Amount they paid: £305 (to be written off)
The story:
Daughter's accounts were closed £305 in arrears vs £150 agreed overdraft entirely due to unlawful bank charges and sent to the vile Fredricksons International for collection. After establishing why they were harrassing us we declared war. Initial response was she must pay up but after further snotty letter they have agreed to cancel the debt. Not worth pursuing the scurrilous B's any further. If any one else wants to get even with F-sons I have contact names and adresses so you don't have to waste money on their 0870 numbers.0 -

Hello
I would phone them or go into the branch in the first instance and see how that goes.
Good luck,
