Hi
Sorry if this qustion has already been asked but I have a friend who is currently dealing with CCS to pay of his debts of 70K+. Some are with Debt collectors and some are with the banks themselves. Can he claim any of his fees back? any fee that he can claim would be great to pay off these debts quicker.0 -

Thought you might like to know that I was charged £19.50 for going overdrawn by a few pence. I sent the letter from this site to my Bank (Cooperative Bank) after being told on the phone that they would not refund. I received an acknowledgement letter 1 week later and yesterday the bank refunded the £19.50 and I am really pleased. Just a small amount I know but when you are on a State pension only it makes a difference. I am definitely going to stay with my bank now. Good luck to all making claims. Thanks for brilliant advice and help0

I have just started the process of reclaiming charges back from Nat West for my daughter's boyfriend. He feels quite intimidated by the bank and I have therefore offered to pursue this by sending a letter of authority from him asking them to correspond with me. Do the bank have to acknowledge that he has given me authority to do this for him. Also, I have totalled up his charges which amount to three thousand pounds and the interest charges from the bank are in excess of four hundred. I have put these separately on xcel sheet but can you claim back the interest charged by the bank as well as the charges. Does 3000k sound excessive on an overdraft that initially started at a couple of hundred pounds and which is now 800? Would really appreciate any help - complete novice but have been using the template letters which are bril!!! Nat West just seem to be piling more and more charges on his account at the moment almost 300 in under a month!! For someone on basic wage this is just spiralling out of control for him and making him extremely depressedNat West - MCOL March - FatWest defended - hearing date 4 July - 2300 claimed and still having charges put onto account!!
HSBC - sent 14 day - still waiting for reply. MCOL by end of week - claiming 795 - eventually paid out £560.
Halifax - sent for statements Feb - cheque cashed - nothing received - reported to FSA - paid up almost amount claimed before official complaint registered with FSA0 -
Hi guys sorry to answer a question with a question but,
I wondered if anyone could advise me as to how much the Money Claim Online service costs? I think I am right in saying that it is in relation to the amount of money claimed but if anyone could give me a 'ball park' figure I'd be extremely grateful.
I'm a student at uni with four credit cards and one closed credit card. I can't even afford to claim them all at once so I am trying a couple to test the water. I am currently awaiting a response from the DPA letter from Halifax and Egg (who were fab to be fair, even sent me a pre-paid envelope for me to return the Data Protection request letter in) so any advice on the above question would be greatly appreciated. It will help me plan the timing of my subsequent letters.
Cheers in advance,
Dan0 -

Hi everyone - I'm feeling very inspired by all these stories of success and so am starting my first letter against HSBC now!
A quick question though, I have two accounts with HSBC that have been charged alot over the years, both at different branches. Does anyone know if I have to threaten both branches or if I can treat it as one case and send just one letter for both accounts to my local branch?
Many thanks for all the info on your site.0 -
About 2 months ago I decided to claim charges £2464.00 back from The royal bank of scotland. I sent them the 1st Letter and there was no reply, so I sent them the second one and they replied saying no bascically, so my husband made a appointment with the bank to talk about his account and she had the letters on her desk so he mentioned it she said she would send them to head office for them to have a look at. well a week later and we had a call from them saying they would have to "draw a line under his account" so they closed his account, a day later we received a letter saying they were looking into the claim and they would contact us. Well yesterday we received a letter saying that they belived their charges were fair but then continued saying as a gesture of good will they would pay us £2464.00 so good news.
Claimed £2464.00
offered £2464.00
So I would like to thank everyone for there help on this :T0 -
Bank: First Direct
Claimed: £425
Paid: £375
Why didn't i do this earlier! Got paid less than I claimed as I can't add up! But how easy was that, one letter, no arguments, just settled without prejudice!
Cheers Martin!0
