Yes you can get the charges back. I would try firstly asking over the telephone as a gesture of goodwill, then if not getting writing!Help me to help you :santa2:0

we have taken a loan on a sofa with Black Horse - we should've been down to our last £130 to pay, but due to bouncing direct debits we now owe them £600 -(£50 per bounce!) I am tempted to give them a cheque tomorrow to clear the amount owed on the sofa, but will not pay their bank charges -if they refuse can I reclaim their charges as per bank charges (which I initiated again Nationwide two days ago!!;) ) Come March we will start being hit with their ridiculously high interest rates; OH was made redundant 12 months ago and has retrained and started his own business, but pennies are very very tight and I can't afford this to happen -
Can I the charges back as unfair amounts?0 -
I would imagine you can claim the charges back - noone can say that £50 is a fair reflection of their costs. Maybe an expert will be along soon to confirm this...Addicted to Facebook0

Hi there, can you reclaim loan charges from companies such as Black Horse, and also what about mortgage charges? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks:j0 -
Hello,
I was wandering if the same principle of reclaiming bank and credit charges can be applied to getting one's money back from Mortgage and loan lenders.
Having just successfully re-claimed £870 from HSBC in bank charges for myself, I am currently helping out a friend who has been charged extortionate amounts for missing payments on his loan and mortgage repayments, so was wandering if I could help him reclaim these late payment fees from his mortgage lender
Any help would be greatly appreciated!0 -
Hi I missed a right few mortgage payments with abbey (comming out of my halifax bank account) and I am in the process of claiming the charges back from halifax, can I also claim the charges back from abbey (35 each time I missed) even though it was them the money was supposed to be paid to when I missed???
Any help on this would be much appreciated
Thanks

Hi, I'd appreciate any advice at what exceptions to this rule?
The reason I ask is i'd like to go for for max on what is possible to reclaim. During the last two years have been hell for me and fiancee with charges from banks, credit cards, mortgages and secured loans.
All the above tried to ruin me and considering my girlfriend who is now in remission was dealing with Cancer, made the experience all so sour. She lives with me but wasn't on the mortgage and everything was in my name.
We have recently remortgaged to pay back everything but my old mortgage and secured lenders decided to add £1000 & £500 to my balances before completion for arrears charges (even though i was being charged every month by both for missing payments)
So for this I am determined to get everything possible back.
Any advice on any of the above would be greatly appreciated.0 -
Had a loan from a loan company about 5 years ago and except for a bad blip 5 years ago we have been paying it off slowly but steadily. So some charges were added as the banks have charged. Can we try to claim these back - has anyone any idea please?
Claiming about £1000 back off Barclays and have filled in the court forms and paid the fee on New Year's Eve so counting down the days now!!!!0
