  • Bank: Halifax
    Amount requested £626
    Amount they paid £626 + £132 interest + £80 Court fee

Initially sent letter requesting just the charges. They replied saying it was all my fault, terms and conditions blah blah! Sent letter threatening court. No reply so started moneyclaim online. Halifax Acknowledged to intend to defend but paid the money into my account on the same day. They sent a letter saying that it would cost them more in legal fees even if they won, so here's the money but we don't admit anything. Job's a gud un!

Barclays have acknowledged my moneyclaim but they have until 21st to move further. Fingers crossed! Waiting for reply on initial letter from Halifax credit card also. Girlfriend is waiting for reply from Yorkshire bank.

Good luck everyone. Thanks to everyone on initial victory!!!

  • Hi there

Don't know if anyone can help me. My wife & I have a joint business account - is it possible to reclaim charges on that or does it come under separate legislation?

I've seen this question asked a few times elsewhere but can't seem to find an answer anywhere.

    Thanks in advance.

I had the same thing with HSBC. I gave them 7 days but they sent a letter sayimg they were looking into it. I was just about to start moneyclaim. I had filled in the form and was just waiting for someone to lend me the money when I received a letter with an offer.. My advice would be just to hold on a while as you may get an offer and it will save yu having to pay money claim. you are likely to be contacted b4 the given date anyway. i was.

Just been on the phone to service quality team (0845 0028006) and they say an offer of 2.5k in the post. I'm inclined to accept it.... Thanks all.... Credit card next me thinks.....
