  • Could some one give me an answer if possible?, i have just (within the last few days) sent off my court bundle to both the court and the solicitor of Lloyds TSB. I was just wondering what the next step is and how long it will be before I hear anything.

    Many thanks.

I am about to send my first letter to Barclays with a list of charges and interest (from the site calculator)

Do i have to enclose the copy statements or will the date and ammount of charge as listed on the printout do?

I would much rather get it right first time!

    Cheers

The print out with the dates of the charges and the amounts is ok you do not need to send the statements because they have got access to these there selves.

 I am helping my sister to reclaim charges from Abbey (back to 2002). I applied using the template letter but what I got back was useless. Lists and lists of spends but no info on the charges incurred, or the balances. I don't want to let that deter me... Is this their usual ploy?

We have already opened a new account, so that one is dormant for now:cool:

Clearly I need to write back and reiterate that it is the charges info I want, unless you can suggest anything else:confused:

Follow Martins suggestion of writing back and sending a copy to the information commissioner

Just got back the first 18 months of six years statements from LTSB plus a list of the total charges for the six years. Two questions:

Should LTSB have sent all six years of statments showing all transactions - and not only some? (Aren't LTSB shortchanging me with information that might be useful later on if it went to court)?

When I calculate the total deductions, do I include the interest on the overdraft as well? I would argue that their charging placed me in an O/D situation which triggered their interest charges.

Also FYI - LTSB state that if the account returns to a positive balance, (having been O/D) "...during the working day", then no charges will be incurred. Their practice is quite the opposite. I wrote to them years ago about this but only had a letter stating they will look onto it.

The potential scale of this 'practice' is huge as this is an automated process and has been going on for years.
