agree with greyster. and that's why i was asking crabman what he was paying.

    Ring them up.

we were on 17.99 month and after reading about the £9.99 on here last week , rang them ... they immediately said " no problem , we'll put you on to £9.99 as long as you sign for further 12 months .
I've only just signed up ;) but no email in m'inbox either. Well at least I have another cooling off period after the easy install box arrives to phone up and negotiate :o

Doesn't anyone remember how long it took for the first sign of correspondence to come through?!?!?!
  • crabman .. no need to wait ,. just ring them now . Instead of 0870 number try 08002796771 or 01179191100.

    don't delay .. sort it today !!

Phoned up and she said that router is on it's way - should be here by Tues latest. I asked about an upgrage in speed but couldn't get it for nothing :o then mentioned that other Silver people are getting it for £9.99 but she said that's only for existing customers. :( Do you think they would be more flexible once I'm into the 7-day cooling period when they've already activated the broadband connection??

yes crabman, you got more power then because they have already spent money sending the router and paid BT to enable your line. The router returned would also be used goods.

    Hi all,

Is this the AOL's ph. number 08003761324 you ring when you want to change your price plan? I'm paying for silver package £20.50 a month and I want to go down to £9.99.
    Many thanks,

Phone 08002796771, type in your home phone number, then select Option 3 for "Cancelling an AOL Product or Service".

    Good luck! :D

The no. I rang was 0800 2006245. I just said I was an existing customer & understood Silver was now available at £9.99. He said ok, reminded me it would be a new 12 month contract & changed me over there & then. :T
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Migrate to AOL from another provider (using MAC code), get 1 month free and £45 quidco, also if you use your own modem there is no 12 mth contract!

After the free mth it is £29.99 mth but you can cancel anytime after the first mth.

So if you stay 2 months it would cost you £29.99 - £45 quidco = -£15.01

    https://www.quidco.com

Please thank me if this is useful

    Cheers

PS I don't know if you can leave before getting charged for 2nd mth so potential to get paid £45 for 1 months broadband!!

A long time Crabman, I was originally a dial up customer for years & went onto broadband Silver as soon as it was launched.

I've always been pleased with the service I've had from aol, so have never had a reason to look elsewhere.
