I've been trying to get the £9.99 a month deal, but on 3 times I've called I've been told the £9.99 offer is not open to new customers.
The only offer I get is £14.99 a month, 12 months contract + Free router.
I already have a wireless router so thats not a problem.
Has anyone got the £9.99 Silver deal being a new customer?
Thanks0 -
LOL!!
Good idea Crabman...its worth a try and if all else fails I leave and elsewhere.0 -
My formula for success (thanks Crabman):
1. Signed on (as new customer) at £14.99 through quidco
2. Waited until router was delivered
3. Rang cancellations today on 0800 2796771 (3), saying I'd seen that others have it at £9.99.
I was given the £9.99 straight away at cancellations, whereas the other numbers I tried wouldn't budge. I had to buy the router for £25 though, as he started to arrange for a pickup when I said I didn't really need it
Thanks to all on this thread!0 -
Can you please post any Quidco questions on the thread in the Referral Board where the users there will be able to answer for you.
I have moved over to there the last few posts from this thread0 -
I've just got off the phone to Ireland asking about changing from AOL Anytime (dial-up) to the £9.99 broadband. I said I didn't need the free modem as I had one already, donated by a friend who's also on AOL BB and has recently upgraded to a wireless router.
I was under the impression that if you didn't take the free modem you could have a monthly contract, but the operator was adamant that all contracts were 12-months and wouldn't budge.
I did try and drop a few hints about cancelling and going over to Orange, but I find it difficult to "talk tough" with the sweet young Irish girls they use in their call centres. I'll try again later, but I need to be sure of my facts. Is it reasonable to expect a monthly contract, or should I ask for some other compensation for using my own modem?0 -
The no contract applies if you are migrating in from another ISP0

When you get the router, sell it on ebay if you don't want it. You'll get some good cash for it around £40 ish if value holds
Then once your broadband is active, phone up within the 7day cooling period and say you know of others on the £9.99 with free router. Again, if not successful, phone back again. And again, till you get it. Say that if you cancel now then they are the ones who lose as they've paid for activation, the router's been used.
Then make a nice mug of coffee, assured in the knowledge that you've got a brand new router to flog on ebay, a £9.99 broadband connection, excellent download rates and no usage limits.
Hope you get somewhere with this:T

I finally got round to calling AOL today. The guy I spoke to claimed they had now stopped the 9.99 deal to new customers and they were aware of the discussion going on in here (evening AOL:rotfl: )
I did say one or two friends got this deal and was asked for phone numbers. I got the feeling that If I had actual details of somene who had this deal I may have been in luck. Is it worth me trying again tomorrow?0 -
Hi,
I called today and upgraded my dial up to broadband gold for £19.99 a month (I have an NTL line so can only have gold, and don't want to lose my AOL address) No free router or month free. I am now thinking I should have ordered online through Quidco at £24.99 and a month free and free router.
Is the free router applicable to existing customers with an NTL line?
I am wondering if I should ring up when the modem arrives and threaten to cancel unless I get the free router and month free as well. If they won't budge then I could cancel and reorder through quidco on line.
Anyone have any suggestions on this?
Thanks0
