Do you get the month to month contract with the router? I thought that you were tied in for a year with this option?
yes I'm tied in for 12 months but look at this:

    Price to pay = £9.99
Benefits: first month free, £45 Quidco cashback, free wifi router (worth £55).

WHo cares if I'm with them for 12 months - it's unlimited usage and yes only 1MB but after using dial-up all my life it's like heaven. I'll be ready to upgrade to a different ISP and speed after a year :)
  • just tried using AOL live help to ask about changing from my £17.99 month silver to the £14.99 wireless package, was told system not working properly to check this for me. please try again later.
so i will be trying later.12 month contract finished in jan, so hopefully will get the wireless package or will threaten to leave to cheaper network, anyone know who is doing it cheaper at the moment?(might help to be able to quote price ect)
will let you know later how it goes

£9.99 the first month is on Platinum, actually i just rang to downgrade to the £9.99 Silver and the opertive said i couldnt have it as its existing customers only , after saying i have it writen down in an email they honoured it after speaking to a manager , you might be on bumpy ground if you signed up online as i presume you signed an electronic contract and agreed to 14.99 pm , i have yet to have a contract arrive yet by post if one will arrivre at all so must be in a stronger position.

I actually signed online for the free router then haggled to £9.99 for AOL Silver (kept router too). Just wondered if possible to get a faster speed for £9.99 :o

I am really annoyed that AOL are offering wireless broadband to new customers ONLY with one month free. And, the price is £14.99 whereas existing customers pay £17.99 per month. I can't wait to change to a new server but I really dread having to notify everyone about my new address and my son i law says its very hard to get rid of AOL completely. Anyone else come across this.

Its the same with the SMILE bank. They are giving away 9 bottles of wine to new customers.

You don't need to leave for another ISP, just ring them up! see the AOL thread in the Internet access forum.
