Have checked speed and is currently 903.4 Kbps Downstream... and 237.5 Kbps Upstream presume this is OK for all you Techies

i cant knock there customer service
deaonos my modem/router arrived 2 days after they said they would send it i would expect that they will send yours out once they have confirmed your migration is going thru ok0 -

Today I received a letter dated yesterday saying that my line was now upgraded to broadband and I'd be receiving my router within the next few days :rotfl:

I was told to expect the migration on 15th August and the router two days later. The 7 day period begins from the date you get the router, as you cant set up on their router until then.
I checked my line with BT and they have said that an engineer is expected to check the poor line quality (I should be able to get 1Mb but in fact can expect to get 512kbps) but none is scheduled.
I was advised to contact Bt wholesale 0800 0850646 directly in business hours.
How has the AOL service been since activation?0 -
Hey guys
This might seem abit silly but i would appreciate your feedback. I have just changed from AOL dial up to AOL broadband (the one for 14.99 and a wireless router). After the advert I didnt understand why I was paying £15.99 a month. However now I think i may have acted prematurely, apparently my computer is more at risk with broadband, and I do want my computer to get more complicated (i am rubbish with them).
Do you think I did the right thing?
Sorry if it sounds silly I am just a little concerned
Cheers

the reason why its remotley possible to be more at risk is because your BB connection is always on there fore when you switch on your PC you will connected to the internet straight away and constantly,
as long as you have a firewall (zone alarm or the likes ) then you will be no more at risk then when you were on dial up0 -
I would ring them up as AOL are offering the same deal for £9.99 a month as for a price reduction asap0

More at risk with dial up, with rogue diallers, u dont have that problem with broadband0

hey deanos,
i called them up, they said its 9.99 only if you pay £25 for the wireless router,is this correct?
So i said yes, cos the one off fee i will get back after 5 months...so i thinks that ok....!0
