In queue online now waiting to discuss with live help.0 -
Crabman wrote:I was 44th in the queue earlier :rotfl: as my router STILL hasn't arrived I was asking about the cooling off period. As usual with A-O-Hell they wouldn't give a straight answer and it took 4 pages of A4 chat to get a straight answer  Apparently my cooling period doesn't start till "the final upgrade details are completed, but this isn't linked to the shipping of the router". My chat rep was called Sanjeey Kumar... doesn't he have a TV show on BBC1??
I gave up with chat.....Panjek didn't have an idea what I was talking about :rotfl: Will have to phone again tomorrow.
Could be fun!
Sanjeey Kumar............doesn't he live at number 42?0 -
I signed up for Silver at £9.99 last night, one month free. I was able to sign in to my account 15 minutes later. It showed a dialup account registered so I rang AOL and spoke to another op.
She said I will transfer to Silver when I migrate. She read out the details of the contract - £14.99 for 12 months and free router.
I said that this was not the contract verbally agreed, and that fortunately I had a similiar offer in writing from AOL at £9.99
After a few minutes of "we cant give it to new customers", the op consulted her superviser and said she would update the notes to reflect my verbal contract. She then agreed to email me to confirm this.
Its worth confirming in writing any telephone contract with AOL, as depending on who you speak to you will get different answers.0 -
i managed to get my silver package down from 15.99 to 9.99
and the free router ,
spoke to them on friday threatening to buy out my contract which would have cost me £127 and go to sky, they offered me 9.99 pm plus free router had to sign a new 12 month contract total cost £120 per year + free router,
so its cheaper for me sign the new contract get the free router and then cancel my contract next month and go to sky.
rang them yesterday just to confirm the free router was on the way the chap i spoke to couldnt see it on the system , explained to him im only staying with them becuase i was offered the free router if they cant send me one to cancel my contract there and then.
30 seconds latter he agreed to send the router and also sent me a email to confirm.
will let you know when it arrives0 -
Ive just rang to see how my migration has gone and it was rejected as they had a digit wrong, however they have offered me another month free !
As suggested patricia1066 the lady on the phone is emailing me with the details of the offer i have taken with them.0 -
deanos wrote:Dont worry just ring again as some op's dont seem to know about it , ring again and when they said "how can i help" say you rang the other day and got offered silver for £9.99 when migrating in and you want some more details and need to know what details they need , thats what i did after getting refused the first time and the operator sorted it straight away , 1 month free, 1 month contract , free router and £9,99 pm, she said it was £25 for the router but when she put details in it came up as free as im migrating
I wonder what are the chances of getting the £9.99 deal without a MAC as my line was ceased due to the e7even fiasco!! I don't need a modem/router as I already have my own wireless one
CheersClive0 -

Ring em !
Just say you rang the other day and got offered £9.99 p/m but then got cut off and ringing back for more details0 -
Stupid AOL. The computers show me down as AOL GOLD, when i'm on Platinum.
So whilst they tried confusing me with that, they cut me off, and i'm gonna have to ring AGAIN.

try and try again.
The 9.99/month offer for the 1Mbit/s broadband is given to anyone (both existing, migrating and totally new activations). For the new activations they ask a 12 months lock-in. Of course with this offer they do not send you the free wireless router (as they basically discount your price of the equivalent value of the router).
If the first operator does not want to give you this offer or does not know about it, hang up and try the next one (same numbers, they have loads of operators). I got it eventually.0 -
