The above post is a great use of your privileges here! (And further evidence of exactly what sort of company yours is, and the quality of customer care they are prepared to allow their reps to demonstrate on websites like this)0 -
Hi mobiles.co.uk company representative...
Not sure if that was directed towards me in response to me wondering whether if I was unsure I could send an earlier bill too...
I don't wish to cause you or anybody at mobiles.co.uk any unnecessary work. I am 100% happy with your advice here, and am grateful you have taken the time to post it. But I have found it impossible to get accurate clear information from mobiles.co.uk regarding the cashback offer via the phone (they have never answered I have called for hours) or the web, therefore I am sure you will understand me being cautious. I signed up for their deal as it was recommended here and I needed a cheap mobile deal at the time so it is important to me...
Thanks again.0 -
Temporary thread hijack. Sorry. Hopefully I can get a quick response so I don't need to start another thread...
Hi mobiles.co.uk representative.
I have a query regarding cashback that I am not getting answered on the phone/via your website despite several attempts. I took out a 12 month contract on 21st June 2009. I believe according to the t&c's below that the first bill I need to return is the 'January 2009' bill:
"Please send your bills at the months indicated as per above instructions. For the avoidance of doubt month 6 will be the bill dated in the month that is 6 months after your connection date (the date displayed on your invoice). E.g. If connected in January, the sixth month will be July so we need to receive your July bill within 30 days of the date on that bill."
Mine and my brother's bills (we both have a contract from Orange) statement date from out most recent bill is October 22nd, but the payment is due 9th November. I am unclear as to whether mobiles.co.uk' considers this the October or November bill. If the bill's date is defined by the due date next months bill needs to be returned to mobiles.co.uk if it is the statement date it is the following month. So my query is is the bill's 'date' defined by the statement date or the due date?
As stated, I have sought clarification from mobiles.co.uk several times to no avail. Hopefully you can post a quick reply here so I don't need to start another thread.
Thanks very much, I appreciate your taking time to answer queries here.
The rep has deliberately mislead you. it is the DECEMBER bill, NOT the January you assumed in your post to him. His answer carefully diverted your attention by merely answering your question as to the difference between payment and statement date (albeit correctly), in the process allowing you to send a later bill. Be very careful of this company and rely on the rep's words at your peril. Also use the t&c at the point of sale - they have changed them and state on here that certain things were always in them which weren't (as well as accepting even that they ARE t&c only when it suits them). You are quoting t&c which were NOT the ones at your point of sale - they have been altered since then, but in your case it will still be December (and subsequently every two months, e.g. February etc.). Not only that, but YOUR t&c only give you THIRTY days to claim - and there is absolutley NO way this dealer would waive that and pay on you January bill no matter WHAT they may spout on here. According to him I know nothing though, so you could ignore my advice and follow his if you agree. After all, he is (according to the mouthpiece) only here to "help" whilst (according again to the mouthpiece) my sole purpose in life is to make his job harder and "interefere". Personally, I trust my "interference" has proven helpful to many who have subsequently avoided the problems innumerable others (including yourself) have encountered with the "one of the fairest dealers on the web"! I am sure he will be happy that you are happy with his advice here, since it would result in your claim being rejected by him which is more like his sole purpose in life, it seems!
As for when ANYTHING will become "available" on his website - no good asking me, since I take no notice any more (they don't honour deals sometimes anyway!).0 -

The much maligned rep will be horrified to see you misquote him like this.
He never claimed to be from "one" of the fairest dealers at all.
No, no. no!I happen to think we are the fairest online mobile phone retailer you'll find
And all his subsequent visits have shown us the truth!0 -
My mistake. I wasn't sure so gave him the benefit of the doubt... you'd think I'd know better after so much rubbish and so many insults from him. I stand corrected!0

Sold my n95 8gig whilst under contract and other phones which I did not like - you just have to have a reliable replacement to use your contract service on (i.e. make sure you have a replacement that works properly for the services you are paying for).
I used mazumamobile.com to sell mine and also envirophone.com - if its a good phone, might get more on ebay but work out the final value fees first (plus paypal fees) and the risk it may not sell at the right price on ebay.0 -
Hi Oneaday,
I think the OP wants to use the phone for collateral and get the phone back on Tuesday
It's not just about the money0 -
