The serial whingers are at it again.

I am going to restate my previous comment that my friend and I are very happy Mobile customers.

As a "serial whinger" It is amusing to see that you are down as a happy customer ???
Considering you initialy posted on here complaining that you had not rec'd your free gift from them.
You were ignored by the Rep after posting on here.
You had emailed them and 5 days later still had no replies.

So whilst you may be happy now you have also had your share of problems ;)

I actually try to avoid this part of the forum because I know as soon as I click it there will be a mobiles.co.uk post and the same people spouting the same thing, taking me years to scroll down the page because of the long winded boring essays about them.
I understand how you feel Rick however the problem is that as we don't have a mobiles.co.uk feedback thread for people to refer to we end up with lots of threads going over the same ground.
Whilst there are many of us who have read the same thing time and time again there are those who read this section for the first time because something has gone wrong or they are considering purchasing a phone etc etc
It's for their benefit that my posts are made and if that is at the cost of you getting bored with them I can only apologise.

The reason they had to accept it for payment is because it was within the rules of the T&C's at the time, however when they realised they had told nobody about not accepting signed for deliveries on a Saturday they made sure to amend the details to cover themselves in the future !!!
Even though the customer was in the right and mobiles.co.uk had to pay out Ben tried to make out they were making the payment as some sort of favour ...amazing !
One would have thought it would have just been easier to accept deliveries on a Saturday to avoid wasting the Customers and Royal Mails time.
    .

Look this is going over old ground now. It was wrong, they admitted it, paid out in full and then amended any T's & C's to make it clear that claims wouldn't be accepted at weekends.

    Can we PLEASE move on.

Despite MJ's whingeing I have yet to see a case where Mobiles have not paid out cashback. If they have, then either put up and give SPECIFIC details or shut up.

By the way Silk I FULLY appreciate the problems you had with Mobiles and can understand you being bitter towards them. However I would assume that you no longer have any dealings with them?

Back to the OP, as you can see from my original reply there have been both good and bad experiences with the company. I have never dealt with them so i can't personally comment, but my experience of 3rd parties like CPW, Dial-a-phone have not been good so i can recommend purchasing directly from the operators own online shop, like - http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/pay-monthly
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

Glad you feel that you can move on Bob, however whilst you and some others may be bored with the experiance there are those with outstanding issues who are unable to move on untill they are resolved ;)

Thanks for your appreciation and understanding RCA.
It depends what you mean by dealings ???
If you mean do I have a contact with them or intentions to buy from them then the answer is no.
If you mean are there outstanding issues that haven't been resolved yet then the answer would be yes ;)

  • I'll share my experience with mobiles.co.uk. My first cash back claim was paid in 10 days. My 2nd claim 5 weeks and my brother's latest claim took nearly 7 weeks after several emails threatening court action. Lost total faith in E2save after several cash back deals over the past 7 years but thought mobiles.co.uk was the safer option as you can email your online bills for each cash back claim.

I have now lost total faith in mobiles.co.uk and definitely would not recommend this company to anyone and certainly won't be buying any phone contracts from this company again.

The only reputable cash back retailer is the Phones4U group of companies

There lies the truth. The instances of declined (but legitimate claims) I know of are not for listing on here for "obvious" reasons (the rep uses "obvious" so I certainly will). If I am a "whinger" it is for good reason. Like Silk, Mulerider and numerous others I have found this company dishonest and without scrouples - JUST like E2Save. Again. phones4u are miles better for (my area of expertise - cashback schemes AND honouring what they say on their website; Mobiles.co.uk DEFINITELY does not!). I am never going to ask for this rep's "help". Where needed I will take my own actions after learning that with any cpw company it's better to ignore what they say and act according to what they do. Changing the t&c is nonsense - the rep on here has clearly and deliberately NOT told the truth about what was and was not in there previously and only altered to 60 days when forced to do so under new Ofcom rules. Prior to that they refused even though even E2Save had long changed to 60 days. However, that is only one part of their t&c. Use them with extreme caution if you will - but they also certainly do NOT offer the best deals at present either, if that's a criteria!

So who does offer the best deals?
    Please help MJ.
