Its always best to ask them what they can offer you before making a decision, thery mayt keep the credits but for a lower price, you also might get a free phone upgrade, even if you dont want a new phone you can always sell it bringing in some nice extra cash, they will want to keep you as a customer so just see what offer they make you.

Absolutely the worst mobile phone scam company I have ever dealt with. I sent in my first claim a month early due to confusing wordings in their T&Cs and Cashback offer documents. They sent deducted £10, just for this. They say that they never received the 2nd claim docs, now. They say all my future claims are void now. And all this time, I am paying over the odds for calling this 0870 number. None of the other landlines listed at saynoto0870.com or the one above seem to work. If I can, I am going to tell all my friends and whoever else I can to avoid this company.

Actually they've done you a favour by not denying you every penny of your cashback because you sent the first bill in a month early. They were perfectly within their rights to do so.

Did you send your claims recorded delivery?

So far I have received 3 of my 5 cashbacks without any problems - admittedly it can take upto 6 weeks from sending the paperwork in to getting the cheque. Just about to send my 4th so will keep you posted.

However am a bit concerned as this contract finishes in May and I want to switch to another offer as not happy with Orange but mainly because I obviously like getting the cashback!

But it seems like people are experiencing problems with CNM - is this the norm for cashback sites at the moment because they are not making the money they thought they would?
  • I am also waiting for my 4th cheque £72.00

First 3 were paid withour problems, but, they did take their time in sending out the cheques.

    My 4th claim was sent 29 Jan, I rec'd e-mail confirmation 8 Feb.

Waited until 6 March & rang through to the claims no. who advised that my claim was valid but that due to enormous backlog, they were taking upto 28 days to send cheques out, and that mine was on it's way.

Now 28 March, still no cheque & I'm just about to send my 5th & last claim to them.

I was going to sign up to a new contract with them, providing that all claims were met, however, if they are going to start being silly over last 2 claims then I shall go elsewhere.

I will wait another week before contacting them again & will post the response here.

A word of warning for those thinking of purchasing from coolnewmobile.com.

I was about to buy a mobile contract with them but on the order pages they ask a number of questions which really have nothing to do with them.

    Examples are:

How long have you been living at your current address?
How many credit cards do you have?
    Marital status
Date of birth (OK, could be to check you're over 18 but I doubt it)
Occupation and time in current job

Such personal details shouldn't be given out for no reason and it makes me think that if this company goes under, they will have a nice database of people's sensitive information that could be used for ID theft. I would be interested to know if anyone who has bought a phone from this company has been the victim of ID theft.

I'm not questioning the company's staff but their web site is poorly designed and presented on the outside, so god knows how poor the security of their site and database is!

These facts lead me to believe this is a company not to be trusted with sensitive personal information.

I think all mobile companies/shops willl ask these questions when taking out a mobile contract as they need these answers to carry out a credit check.

Yes, I had a delay in getting my phone because of the credit check (you must use the same billing address and delivery address).

I got my first cashback cheque today, signed and for the correct amount. It's taken about 6 weeks to go through - I got the e-mail on the 19th Feb saying my claim has been received and processed, and after I didn't hear anything I e-mailed on the 19th March and the reply was: "Based on the date of receipt your cheque will be despatched in the next 5 to 10 days" - they just made it in time! ;) Time for claim number 2 now.
