Morning All!
A bit of a late start for me as DD decided that 3am was the time to wake up and not be settled .. as DH has man flu I shoved him in the direction of the spare bed for some sleep .... she settled for 2hrs and then bounced back to life at 6am! Allowed DH to take over at 08:30 .... and with 2hrs kip inside me I'm feeling almost human!!
Today is Easter Egg free, but I did buy some G&B's for DH and I
BR - my best wishes towards you and your family
Jo - Sewing machine ... short term cost, long term savings ....
We came back from our hols yesterday where we've been S/C .... and it's depressed us how much we have left to do on this house to make it habitable, so in a minute I shall hawl myself out of this pit, put on my DIY clothes and get cracking on DD's room for a start.
My mother is coming over this afternoon to babysit to allow us to really get cracking on it, as much as DD is lovely, she kinda hinders the progress, especially when she wants to help (she is only 2.5 after all).
B - Tea
L - HM Bread with cheese toasted, erm .. that'd be cheese on toast then
D - Got some chicken in the freezer, may convert that in to a casserole.GC - March 2024 -0 -
Morning everyone :easter:
I'm having a lazy day tooI was awake well before 7 and got up toget all the brekkies but we all went back to our bed for a play/watch tv/read. No choccy so far - the boys haven't even mentioned eggs - the gerbils are still too exciting to think about chocolate
They have now been re-named Sinbad and Sooza - I wonder if these names will stick :rotfl:
Mr TM won't be back till late tonight so we'll be having our Easter meal either tomorrow or Tuesday - dependant on what shifts my sis is working. I'll get the organic bronze turkey out of the freezer today though.
The sun has decided to make an appearance nowI have a load of washing to hang out and more to go in. I'll do some cleaning/tidying and then this afternoon, I'll take the boys out for a play/walk. Footballs, bubbles, bikes? - who knows
B: shredded wheat and green tea
L: soup and toast (probably)pork chops with potatoes and assorted veg of some description
Take care everyone. Rzl - my thoughts are with you and your gran.

Afternoon
Have had my lunch early (was starving)of Heinz Tomato soup (yummy) with bread and butter. On 3rd washload and embarrassed to say that yes the TD has been used for 30mins today....sorry:D The bedding will be dried on the line but the middle load needed drying quickly and there are 4 pairs of jeans on the line and another load from last night on the airer and not all dry:mad: so no room..LOL. Still have another 2 loads at least to do, but will leave till tomorrow.
There is a special listing day on tuesday, so may ask OH to help sort some stuff under the stairs that need to be sold and can put some more money away for DD's uniform. OH's dad said last week that they will contribute towards the uniform so OH quickly asked if they could buy the blazer (£150:eek: ) and he said fine...we've never asked for anything from either parents and I think their very happy to help out...but they offered and we accepted which we have never done before.
OH & DD have mowed the grass and are doing some more stuff in the back garden this afternoon then I think we're going to watch a film and order a Chinesse-which is really sad but Im looking forward to it sooo much.
We had our rent statement yesterday and we are £180 in credit:j have been paying off extra when I can as you never know when your going to need it. Also, have managed to pull all finances and pay £700 off the visa bill this month, which Im very pleased about. Only a few more payments and we will be entirely debt free, we have no loans, just debt on a card which has been moved to a very low LOB card but still want it paid ASAP. Once its paid, I WONT go back to spending and will save it all and start getting a good deposit down to buy our home.
Anyway, Im mummbling now...take care all.

Good afternoon
Went to Asda early to avoid the crowds. Got my trousers returned but not after a palava. I had paid for them by card and wanted the refund to go back on the card. The assistant (who looked like she didn't know what she was doing) put it through and then said it was declined. I asked her how a credit could be declined. She didn't understand what I was meaning then tried to say that some card companies don't allow refunds. Have you ever heard so much rubbish?!? I gave up eventually and just took cash.
It's so weird reading on yesterday's thread that most of the shops and supermarkets are closed in England. Only Christmas day shuts things up here. Even the Post Office where I was is open today!
Managed to get the mother-in-laws birthday present as well. Got a handbag, necklace, earrings and a lamp. She is having a small party (just at her house) on Saturday night. Not a prospect I relish. However my parents have been invited as well and my dad is going to drive so I think I might just get drunk and make it more bearable!
Anyway I am starting to babble!
Bye for now.0 -
hi everyone
im having a chilled Easter sunday with my very cute vistor Chaz (my mates dog in case anyone didnt read yesterdays thread and thinks ive pulled:D )
I brought him back about 8 last night and my neighbour was instantly on the phone - could i take him round cos her daughter had been excited all day about his arrival! So we went round there and my neighbour and i polished off some red wine whilst chaz got wore out playing in the garden! So he is already proving good for my social life!
Anyway i was worried he wouldnt sleep that well but at 11am i decided it was probably time to wake him up:rolleyes: So we have been for a long walk cos the weather is really nice here today and im thinking i now should do something with the day (v large pile of ironing or cook something for parent visit tomorrow)
The bad news is yesterday i got a speeding ticket through the post from the lovely Cumbrian constabulary who must make an absolute fortune sitting on part of the M6 were there in NO traffic waiting for people to exceed 70  And yes i know its my fault
Anyway ill sign off cos i am seriously rambling now - Bargain - thinking about your gran
And if your reading CQ please give us a quick call/message
Lots of love and hugs all

I'm having a chill out day too. Kids being incredibly well behaved today (what's wrong with them?). Made some fruit teacakes this morning (a.k.a. hot cross buns without the cross) which all went before any were allowed to go cold. I have to admit though, they were tasty.
A friend is takign the kids out all afternoon - which might account for their good behaviour all morning. Felt i ought to cook her dinner to say thanks for relieving me of my kids for 1/2 a day. We had HM salmon fishcakes thanks to asda £2.98p.kg offer at the minute with 10p per pack carrots, reduced price pots and purple sprouting broccoli (10p for 2 packs). Followed by a fruit salad made with cheap fruit sold off yesterday. The meal for all 5 of us cost us quite literally next to nothing.
Going to go an enjoy the sunshine while i'm childless....0 -
