    Hi again :D

Still got one more church service to do before I can really have an "Easter break" - am just vegetating at home in front of the telly for an hour or so in order to eat lunch and restore my sanity (what sanity I hear you ask :D). Am sooooo sleepy.

Haven't heard any more about my grandma so no news is good news I suppose - I might give my mum a call later and see what's going on. Thanks to everybody who's passed on their thoughts.

Had a text message this morning from cha97michelle, who is being kept ever so busy in London by her relatives! :D

Nelski - Chaz sounds lovely - we used to have a dog called Chas when I was little (he was a big wolfhound-cross-everything-else).

Off to choral evensong in Streatham in a few mins - it's an amateur parish choir I occasionally get roped into, and it's a nice bunch of people to sing with. They're a bunch of p!ssheads though :D and usually when I go there I end up spending all evening in the local Wetherspoons getting pleasantly off my face :o On this occasion I don't think I have the energy so it'll be one or two, max! I need an early night, don't want a hangover on my one proper "day off" this weekend, and want to be up before 8am tomorrow for the start of a special all-day broadcast of Wagner's Ring Cycle on Radio 3.

Right, better get ready to go out (phew, another few hours and I'll be done with all the Easter rushing around)

    Rzl xx

    Hello again,

We are having a lovely day today, sent the children off on an easter egg hunt this morning, its one of those times when i love being a mum, seeing their faces as they rush around looking for the eggs, and then they finally found the mounds of eggs that i had hidden in my bedroom and i feel so lucky, as i got some lovely hugs and loads of thanks, and it is nice to know they apreciate what has been done for them, rather than just expecting it.
We then had a lovely lunch of roast duck with all the trimmings, and im half way through the bottle of bubbly i bought reduced in Tescos a few months back, so feeling very happy and mellow (and very full, lunch was lovely!!!).
Children are playing outside at the moment, its not sunny, but it is dry, and im just having a look around MSE!!!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day, take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Afternoon everyone
Bargainrzl - so sorry to hear about your worries about your grandma. Like Moggins, I don't do prayers but I'm sending lots of positive thoughts your family's way.
PP - glad you enjoyed your break but you can't beat being at home can you?
The patio party went really well yesterday, we all had a lovely time & the food was much admired. There's enough left for me & DH for tonight too so no cooking for me today. :j
After everyone had gone me & DH got ready for bed then came down & sat outside drinking hot chocolate & watching a toad & a newt cross the patio. It was heavenly.
We've been out for a cycle ride with friends today & done a very respectable 35 miles. It's a great feeling when you've done lots of exercise then shower, change & relax with a drink, I love it.
W***k for me tomorrow but I don't really mind, it'll be quiet so I'll have chance to catch up with all the adminy stuff I struggle to fit in normally.
    Enjoy your evening everyone.
    xx

    Evening all

Well that's today's commitment to food over and done with. One roast chicken done in the SC (one of Tesco's BOGOF jobs) which has produced three times the amount of meat the yellow sticker "Extra Special" Duck did, on Friday. The roasties were divine, even the sweet potato roasties - which very often disintegrate to mush. Used an Asda Sage & Onion stuffing mix (all of about 27p) which was scrummy and made BS's fruit cobbler for pud. DH and DS are resting their bellies on the sofa, while I'm catching up with a bit of MSE before the dishes, feeding the dogs and guinea pig and getting two horse saddles ready for collection by a Freecycler at 7pm. Both of them are damaged and can't be used for riding - but they're both well in excess of 100 years old and they're going to a fellow who restores saddles for film & t.v. work. Excellent! I collected a pair of leather walking boots from another Freecycler this afternoon, so its good to be able to give something back. :)

Other than the cooking, I decided to have a day off from housework today. It felt very strange and I have to admit that I was bored silly, whilst trying not to be. I have a horrible feeling that looking after the house old style has given me a validation for existing each day. That can't be good!

DS had a lovely time at 6am this morning, following the arrows around the house to find his one big easter egg and eleven small plastic eggs which I'd filled with random Easter themed goodies. He can't quite believe his luck at being allowed to eat quite so much chocolate in a day!

Oops, got to go - time marcheth on, as usual, and the dogs are starting to complain.

    Have a lovely evening, everybody!
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:
