Evening all!
Im just making dinner but wanted to pop on and say hey. Im on a shoppers high - ive been ebaying!Ive bought a chiminea for my fireplace because its just an empty hole in the wall that needs cheering up (im thinking a nice candle in there or something) and some firegel tins (for the Next firebowl we have that has sat unused since I realised that £10 for two cans is massive - I just got 24 for the same price!!) and then bought some brown thread, green ribbon, and some lovely fabric to make my bolster cushion covers with. :j
I also bought two lovely art prints from one of the poster selling website places today for the bedroom and got a 15% discount on them too, and have spent the best part of 3 hours trying to find the perfect large picture to go over the bed! Ive got it narrowed down to 4 so far, but I dont think ill buy any of them because I havent really fallen in love with any of them. As for the lamp I was going to buy - I found it cheaper from another lighting company for cheaper, so have filled in the pricematching form to see if the original company will go lower on it.Clever huh??
Anyhoo - im really hungry, so its time for me to force the potatoes to cook quicker!
Have a lovely evening all!

Evening all
Happy Easter
Hope you've all had a lovely relaxing time.
The last of my guests have finally gone! :j
It's lovely to see all the family - just wish they all lived closer and didn't need to stay over.
DD's have a huge stack of eggs and pressies from grandparents, uncles, aunts, great grandparents and childminding childrens parents.....I think there's enough choccy to last all year.
We got treated to a takeaway last night and given money towards food for the weekend - which was nice - I think everyone appreciated the effort we'd put in, everyone raved about my HM rolls and SC'd chicken, all gone away with dreams of owning a SC lol.
The house has been put back in order - all the extra beds have gone to the loft and I can breath a sigh of relief.
BIL handed me 6 dvd's, he'd video'd my DD's everytime he saw them, put it all onto disc for me - I've now got them from birth to last year, amazing to look back on. Also got our wedding on there - didn't realise anyone had filmed it, was a lovely surprise to see it....that really made the weekend...no actually - probably the whole year
Anyway - enough rambling - off to make a dent in a bottle of wine and maybe try this lovely expensive easter egg that MIL gave me."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Evening All, happy easter sunday:easter:
Not done too much today, well I say that but - I baked a coffee and walnut cake for the first time (recipe from on here!) came out yummy! v.pleased.
Then made a Rhubarb n Ginger Crumble (recipe from book) with rhubarb that a neighbour gave me from her alotment - it was nice, but we all agreed it would be better leaving out the ginger next time and just having rhubarb.
Had turkey today, loads left for sarnies!
Mum came over for dinner too.
Dobie: 35 mile bike ride - Wow! I really feel like going for a bike ride, havent done for ages, but my DD is only 2 and to small to ride just yet, and my bike is not one of those mountain ones, an old fashioned racer style - so no childseat on the back! We are going to centerparcs soon, so we shall be able to ride then! Also living in London its not as nice riding here as if you live near the countryside!
Rzl: best wishes for your gran.
Hope everyone else are enjoying their day/evenings.

Happy Easter Monday everyone.
Unfortunately I am at work today from 8 till 5 so not much else planned. Just trying to motivate myself to get ready. Need to leave just after 7 but still not dressed and still my lunch to make.
Hubby is off work today so he will be doing some jobs. Washing, ironing and hoovering is on the list.
Breakfast: cereal with dried fruit and seeds
Lunch: roll with chicken/sweetcorn mayo, yoghurt, banana
Dinner: poss sausage and pasta
Snacks: grapes and dried fruit/nuts
Yesterday my mum and dad took us out for dinner. Quite disappointed as service was very slow and dad ordered a steak well done and it arrived like it had been cooked for about 2 seconds. The restaurant wasn't even that busy to excuse the slowness. I have e-mailed their head office to view my comments!
Well gotta go.
Have a great day folks.0 -
Good morning Jocettuk & everybody else,
I hope you all had a lovely Easter. We moved one load down in the truck on Saturday and came back last night. Lucky as today is drizzling. When I arrived home the Easter Bunny had come. Obviously I've been a very good AussieLass this year and got quite a few eggs.
Have a guess what's been postponed until this Friday. Yep, you guessed it - the date for their finance approval. So still doing the waiting game here. We are doing the final move on Sunday. This week will be very hectic. Work tomorrow & Wed so will have to do quite a bit into the night.
DH goes back in the morning. I'm off for a bit of a browse & then to put tea on. Enjoy your day.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Good morning Jockettuk, skystar, and AussieLass:hello:, Good morning everyone :hello:
No particular plans today. OH has wine to rack into a demijohn and I may do some dried onions in my dehydrator (did some apples yesterday). OH wants to make hot cross buns in the breadmaker .. I'll leave him to get on with that
Yesterday seemed to be a busy day but I can't remember what we did specifically .... seemed to involve a lot of washing up! (cooking from scratch, home drying, etc.) The car boot was good, we got a couple more wine racks, a couple of demijohns and a Weight watchers cookery book.
Breakfast: shredded wheat, dried apple flakes and milk
Lunch: ham salad
Dinner: may be a home made pizzaEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning everyone.
I am back to work today too -looks like most of the early posters are!
To those that are still off - have a lovely day. Still sunny here. I am expecting a dusty and messy day. School I work for is moving into new premises today and we are spending this week setting up. When I went to see my classroom on Thursday afternoon the builders still had lots to do. I don't think they are in over the bank holiday, so it maybe in the same state. Meant to be unpacking, but don't think the units are built yet ...
Dd still off today, so leaving her having a lie in.0
