Bargainrzl I'm so sorry to hear about your gran, my whinge seems very petty after reading that and I am now going to buck my ideas up! I hope things improve but even if they don't she was a very lucky lady to have such caring people around her.

Just made salad, boiled eggs, sausage rolls and home made french bread (two of the one pound loaves) for six people.

All the bread has now been eaten so i think it is safe to say that it was enjoyed!

May make sin free chips with turkey and cauli cheese for dinner.

    Dorry

    Someone agreees with me???? Gosh!

Big hug to bargainrzl and moggins and all who are a bit down.

    Hello everyone!

Moggins....I just want to say that I agree with Elona. Your having to tiptoe around OH isn't doing you any good - so don't do it. If he wants to get up at a specific time then he can set an alarm clock, that's what they are for. Your well-being is very important and you are perfectly entitled to put yourself first, especially when you suspect that your mood may be on a downward spiral. I've been through depression and it is hell - I wouldn't wish it on anyone, so please do what you need to do for yourself.

Bargain Rzl - I'm sorry to hear about your gran, it's hard when someone important goes through such a rough time. At least she has people around her who care about her. Sorry, don't quite know what to say but sending you good wishes all the same.

The land of SnowyOwl has been a right lazy one today. I initially got up around 9.00 am - yes, I know for many of you that is a massively long lie-in. It was pelting down with rain so I hopped back into bed, and unintentionally fell asleep again. Didn't get up again until around 1.30 pm - oh shame on me, all that wasted time... I suppose it makes up for my many sleepless nights but these lovely days off work are so rare it's a disgrace to be asleep.

Last night I made a batch of scones and that fantastic carrot cake using a recipe which appeared in the thread about carrot cake being made at school. Sorry to the person who posted the recipe I have forgotten who you are, but your carrot cake is totally lush, absolutely and utterly divine. The point of this baking was to get ready for a parental visit, but they phoned last night just as the scones were coming out of the oven and said they weren't coming!! Never mind - I'll freeze it for the time-being then give it away at work - have to get rid of it otherwise none of it will survive living in my house as I am a nibbler. I had intended giving the lot to MotherOwl to give to her visitors.

The remains of the day will be spent going out for a nice long walk and going to buy some cat food - I've been giving the kitties the Maccie D of pet food these past few days - Brekkie biscuits! These biscuits are probably OK really but they are brightly coloured, ie tainted with food additives - what's bad for us is probably bad for kitties too. Yes I know I am a bit pedantic but I'm off to replenish their supply of Hill's biscuits which are apparently much better and don't have suspect ingredients. At the very least I'm minimising the chances of my kitties suffering from rotten teeth in the future.

And guess what...I still haven't started my two essays....hmm, maybe I should stop pretending I am a virtuous SnowyOwl and admit to being a LazyCow...

Oh horror of horrors...the "Addams Family" from across the road have just returned from their holiday...no no no nooooooo!!! All chances of perfect peace are gone.

    Cheerio everyone
