    Thanks Samara for your help.
I will let you know what happen on 17 April.
  • Hi Folks

Just a reminder that this forum is about civil conversation. Samara spends a lot of time and effort on here sorting problems out and we are grateful that happens.

We have no issue with people disagreeing or posting factual or personal experience, but to call things "tricks", "scams" or any other such comment is neither helpful nor wanted.

    Please keeps things fact based.

  • Well my MAAF b/b was due to go live yesterday, four days after their original supplied date. Still waiting. Contact MAAF who say it's BT's fault. Contact BT who say there's nothing wrong at our end, speak to your ISP!!! I just feel like cancelling the whole thing but of course MAAF will charge for that won't they?
Mr forum manager - was that civil enough under the circumstances?

    Hello Samara,

Since all the problems I experienced last year were fixed by BT and MAAF, since November I have been getting a consistent download speed of 3.5mbs or so with minimal fluctuation which was fine. However over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that whilst at times I still get 3.5mbs, at frequent intervals speeds fall away, sometimes to as low as 0.29mbs. I often listen to radio stations and this apparent instability sometimes spoils the experience for me. No changes have been made in my equipment or settings.

I have contacted your technical dept emphasising that whilst I am not actually complaining about download speeds (I accept that the average speed is generally OK), but just asking for their comments about the inconsistencies I have been recently experiencing. However it is clear from the replies I have received that they do not seem to grasp this and just make the rather anodyne responses to the effect that ‘all speeds are within tolerances.’

I understand the difficulty of investigating intermittent events but would appreciate any observations you might care to make.
  • Hi Boxman,

I'm happy to investigate this - could you please PM me your Madasafish username?

Oldagetraveller, I've got to apologise for the time that it's taken us to get the service installed. In a moment of sheer stupidity this morning I cleared out my PM box to make more space and I lost your Madasafish username. Could you please PM me it once again and I promise I'll make a note of it until we've got you properly connected? I sincerely apologise for that.

    Thank you

    Kind regards,
    Samara

  • Thanks for replying Samara, however, I don't see the point of PM ing you my username as I don't think it would speed anything up? A bit of a contradiction username because there's nothing to use personally with Madasafish!
I'll just bide my time now until I get connected, whenever that might be, and then just count the days until I can give that 28 days termination notice and go back to good old dial up which is still serving me uncomplicatedly and reliably well.
  • Hey Oldagetraveller,

I'm really sorry that it is taking a while to get you connected.

If you are in the position where you don't want to go any further with the order please do PM me your username straight away so that I can see what we can do. I do know that once the service goes live if it's a new connection (ie. You didn't migrate in) there is a 12 month contract. I do hope that you'll stick with going to broadband, once it's actually up and running you should find it quicker than dial up.

If you ever need me to look into anything on your account I'm here to help you.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

There is a much better offer for signing up to MAAF via moneysupermarket than the £1 off for 12 months on the "MSE" cheaper deal (or is there a way to combine both offers?):

If you use moneysupermarket you get a free wireless router. (You only get a non-wireless router with the "MSE" deaL)

You need to ring moneysupermarket to get the deal.

    Details here:

Thanks Samara, yes I am. However, is my username the one that was sent by e-mail with the password to enable connecting initially through the router? Or do you need my client ref. number? The only other info I have is MAAF e-mail and account password.
  • If you could please send me either the username that ends in @madasafish.com or the username that ends in @go-broadband.co.uk that would be really helpful.

    Thank you

    Kind regards,
    Samara
