Hi Edwintheelf,
In addition to the other points made regarding Madasafish vs. the Virgin service - even though they advertise as Unlimited, it's not really.
Virgin have a Fair Usage Policy which basically means that you can use as much of the service as you like until they think that you're using too much. I'm against this type of advertising. Clearly they have a usage allowance if they have a "fair usage policy", they just don't publish it so that they can make their packages look more attractive.

That's my two cents.

Wow...what a quick response!
Thank you so much...I am going to sign up tonight!
One more question...and I know it's a silly one..If i decide to get the Talk package as well as the broardband package do I have to cancel my contract with BT? Or does it work alongside BT?
Emma0 -
Hi Emma_Jayne,
If you sign up for the Talk package it includes line rental so you don't have to pay BT for this.
We'll manage the transfer from BT to us. What will happen is once you submit your order we'll start the process of moving you over. You'll receive a letter from BT notifying you that a transfer request has been submitted. We recommend that you do contact BT and confirm that there are no outstanding invoices on your account and that it's okay to cancel your direct debit with them.
Kind regards,

That is a somewhat slanted view of what their policy "basically means"!
And they do clearly say what they mean, and do publish the allowance:Just as a guideline, if you download more than around 40 Gigabytes (GB), we'll post you a letter and send an email to ask you to reduce your usage.
Compare their 40 GB with MAAF's 5 GB!
And they do use an exclamation mark (!) in their ad to draw your attention to their acceptable use policy.
Nowadays we are all used to seeing things like this in ads (or a "*" etc to draw our attention to the small print)
(Though interestingly there are no such "!" or "*" in the MAAF ad which one could say is misleading when it says on your site:Just £11.99 a month
You in fact have to delve deeper into the MAAF site to see the highly significant word - "FROM" Just £11 .99 a month!

One more question....
Whats the minimum contract length for both the broadband and Talk package?0 -
Hi Emma_Jayne,
The Talk package is a rolling monthly contract and the Broadband package is a 12 month contract.
Kind regards,

To MAAF. I have ordered Max BB and Talk free and realise that MAAF will look after the change over from BT line. However, I have a CPS on my BT line (Primus) will the transfer of this also be arranged by MAAF?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Hi Oldagetraveller,
I'm afraid that we don't allow CPS override on our services, thus Primus won't work. Please do let me know if you would like for me to take action on the Talk portion of your order and I can help you out.
Kind regards,

Thanks Samara. Possibly I should have worded my question better? I don't wish to use Primus once the change to Talk has been completed. I just wanted to know if any kind of transfer or cancellation was required with them?
At the moment I have BT line and pay them line rental and use Primus for calls (CPS). Will all this automatically stop with commencement of MAAF Talk service? i.e. what happens with Primus?0
