Is MAAF's Contract 12 months or 13 months. I was told by their Customer care that I can only cancel it after 12 months and then give a notice for 28 days ? If that's th the case then it is effectively 13 months contract ?

On a practical note, to resolve the problem if this publicity doesn't get it sorted, write to them now to give in your notice to quit at the end of your 12 months.
11.6 Any notice or communication required to be sent pursuant to these Terms and Conditions should be sent to us at Madasafish, 9-10 Grafton Street, London, W1S 4EN

Then if they take any more money off you for month 13 write and ask for it back.

If they refuse you can take them to the small claims court and with the contract as your "witness" you will get a judgement against them if they attempt to defend your claim.

(Alternatively, if you need a MAC, then request it at the start of month 12, and ensure your migration is completed before the end of month 12.

At the same time you request the MAC send them the written notice as well, so that they can't argue you didn't formally give notice).

    Hey Maveli,

    It's a 12 month contract.

You pay for your services in advance with us.

Thus if you want to leave prior to starting a 13 month with us put your notice and request your MAC on the date of your 12th invoice.

Once they 12th invoice has been paid your contract is considered completed. Please let me know if you would like for me to look at your account for the date of your 12th invoice and I can also help you with a MAC if you need it too. Get in touch with me via PM.

    Kind regards,

I signed up to Madasafish broadband and talk free 05.03. and got email saying that broadband will be available from 14 March and Talk free will be activated from 17 March.

And I was informed last night (when I called to technical service) that my broadband will only be activated on 17th March, together with my talk free.

I am not impressed that I have been misleading.

And also, will I be charged for broadband from 14 March or 17 March?
  • Hi ck2,

Could you please PM me your Madasafish username? I would like to investigate what happened here and, of course, I will ensure that you are not billed for the time you did not have broadband with us.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

    Ditto!
MAAF initially blamed BT for "system problems" but after contacting BT who said everything was set up MAAF admitted they delayed to synchronise the dates. I've cancelled Talk free - no problem with the dates now!!
1st venture into BB but I'm highly inclined to revert back to good old dial up in 12 months.
Watch those invoices like a hawk ck2 they'll try and get a few extra days payment out of you.
Must say BT have been excellent.

    Thanks Oldagetraveller.
    I will be very careful.
To be fair, they did say it is to synchonise the date. But I wasn't impressed I was given the wrong information at the first place, and I have to wait for 3 more days for the BB.
I will wait for Samara to get back to me.
    Thanks again.
  • Allegedly the 17th for me. Yes, I agree about being given incorrect information then to compound that by falsely blaming BT. It would have been far easier in the first instance to start BB and Talk on the same date which also makes it easier for invoicing. Not now a problem.
Must say they have been very good at answering e-mails promptly. Always courteous and professional on the 'phone as well.
