Talking of sleeping, OH was telling his friend that DS sleeps through the night. I explained to him that he doesn't, he just manages to sleep through the baby waking up!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

Was he awake when he was standing there? I wonder if he's going to be a sleepwalker. James is and it goes through phases but he's never done anything serious. One night I was going to bed and he was standing leaning over the railing on the landing but he was still asleep. I did ask what he was doing and he said he was fishing, so I said all the fish had gone to bed and perhaps he should too, and off he went. He had no recollection of that happening the next day. Othertimes he's just got up and wandered about for a bit and then gone back to bed.
I would take any development info with a pinch of salt as all babies are different. James was walking by 9 months and climbing by 10 months, but he didn't really speak until he was nearly 4. However Charlotte was 10 months old and hadn't managed to move from laying on her back, then went from a laying down baby to a walking toddler in the space of weeks, and she's a right chatterbox at age 2. They're all different and they all do everything in their own time.
.
Bless - thats so cute (and funny!) :rotfl:
I don't like the 'what your child should be doing and when' type books. They're all so different!
I remember worrying about DD1 because she 'should' have been rolling over and or crawling, and she wasn't. Then at 9 months, she got up and walked and shocked us all! I think they all do what they want when they're ready - and some do things in a different order to the norm.
Actually, its just reminded me of DS1. At his first birthday party he was quite happy sitting in his bouncy chair, sucking on wotsits - while his cousin, younger by 3 months, was running around munching on a chicken leg with a mouth full of teeth!:beer:0 -

Lol :rotfl:Sounds like my OH. Someone in work asked him how he was coping with the sleepless nights (when Violet was about a month old!) - he said he's absolutely fine, she sleeps really well.
But now, she's slept for three nights running, from 7pm ish until between 6 and 6.30. :j:beer:0 -
Alexandra is still being a total toad about sleeping and settling again once she's done her middle of the night wake, poo and feed
Thankfully daddy took over last night after I couldn't get her burped and settled... I rolled over to his side of the bed, he changed her (again) and finished her feed and eventually the stubborn toad still had to be stuck on the boob before she'd settle - 3 sucks and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz *sigh*
She's a right chatty little thing this morning and mummy is still knackered - hohum
Changed the cat insurance yesterday - direct line had dropped their cover as they are now over 8 so have moved them to RSPCA same as the dog and got £22 x back AND it's cheaperOh and the cover is MUCH better!

So much to catch up on I've only managed to read 2 pages!
Elle - glad Rhys is dong well.
Welcome to any newbies I've missed.oh! yes, I hadn't realised it sounded a bit like that :rotfl: can you imagine?
sorry my question was more aimed at some folks who were saying perhaps not to have any more babies or perhaps to only have 2 due to financial constraints, and I wondered if the enhanced SMP might help to make things affordable, that is alledgedly why the govt are doing it!
Having 9 months hasn't really helped us as it's less than half of what I'd normally earn. I'm very lucky to get 18 weeks full pay, then the rest at SMP, but I'm having a total of 10 months off and 3 of those will be holiday so I'm actually getting a wage. It means I'm on SMP Oct-Jan but luckily we've managed to save some to make up the difference. Otherwise I'd have been back at work a LOT sooner. DH's wage just covers the bills, then we have food and other living expenses. So in short no, 12 months SMP wouldn't influence our decision.feelinggood wrote: »Talking of sleeping, OH was telling his friend that DS sleeps through the night. Having a funny day here. DH and I managed to have a fight before he went to work and I don't feel much like talking to him. He's just called and I tried to be normal, but he realised I was still upset so he hung up  Cheek of it!
Imogen's due back this afternoon though :T She's had a lovely time at my parents', but we have missed her. When I spoke to her last night the first thing she said was, "I'm coming home!", swiftly followed by, "So we've washed my hair and it smells of strawberries," :rotfl: We're meant to be having a BBQ but it's currently drizzling (although still sticky & hot ) so not sure that's on the cards.
Right, better finish the berry cheesecake I started yesterday. Will just do Weezl's poll before I do...MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090
