I am VERY proud of you today lady ;)

Sorry to hear you are not well - hope you get better soon.

Benjamin went down with his favourite toy (a stuffed elephant that I only bought because I had been chatting to the owner of a new baby shop in the village and I thought I ought to buy something!!) and his dummy. He had spent about 15 minutes on a pillow on my lap 'cuddling' his elephant and and making tired talking noises to him before I tried to put him down.

He wrestled with his elephant a bit, then I held his arms down and shusshed for a minute and he closed his eyes and went to sleep :D

He has only been taking a dummy for about a week but it has been a real breakthough in terms of getting him to sleep (without a mouthful of boobage :o)

Sorry if this seems a bit detailed for those of you who put your babies down and close the door but it has been a big night for us and I think for others who are trying it helps to hear in detail what others are trying

    ...I hope :o

you know i am very grateful for yesterday and today :D

brilliant way you got benjamin to sleep, and i am grateful(again) for yo sharing how.

If you have a fan, then putting a dish of ice in front of it can help. Although that can be tricky if you have little fingers exploring their surroundings!

I LOVE your wonderful little tips :D

There are plans for my dad to have a week of respite care (not sure if it is him getting respite from my mum, or t'other way round!) but he's got to have his name in all his clothes!

    All our life's a circle ;)

I insisted that DS1 had a dolly before DS2 was born. She came with a dressing gown only, so my mum knitted lots of lovely clothes. Waste of time: all DS1 ever did with that doll was take her clothes OFF! :rotfl:

Was going to write something wholly inappropriate about your sons [STRIKE]abilities[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]aptitudes[/STRIKE] whatever (!) but will refrain :D

    YAY me!!

    I love you ladies!!

Now - on Saturday hubby and I are escaping for the night for our anniversary but we don't know where yet (waiting for some money to clear tomorrow :o) want to go gastro-pub with rooms type place not too far from Wolverhampton...any ideas?

And on another note - anyone who is tempted to take out an ICICI Savings Account DON'T - I have been trying to get MY money out of there for 8 months now (albeit off and on - you know how it is :o) and I still don't have my savings that were supposed to pay for my pram

on the heat, last night Chris's room was 26.something and mine was 27.3 - that was at about 3am!! I've reserved a tower fan a mini fan and a desk fan from comet to pick up 2mo, tower one is for Chris's room because there's less bits on it for him to play with/break and get hurt (well that's the plan!)

I pooped myself last night when I'd fallen asleep feeding Edgar with the tv on, I woke up and as I was trying to focus my eyes before putting him in his moses I realised Chris was stood right in front of me watching the tv his face was right next to mine and it shocked me :p I put him back in bed and I'm not sure when/what happened but when I got up this morning he was asleep on the chair in the lounge

Hi all.. Am tired so going to bed soon, but first.. more good news on the bottle front! :D Rhys took 21ml earlier (over half his feed!) and 16ml on the next feed whilst quite sleepy - hurrah! :D We're only supposed to try it on alternate feeds and whilst he's wide awake, oops! :o I'm going in early tomorrow morning to try him with his 8.30am feed as he's usually most awake and alert for that one.. We might just be getting there - fingers crossed anyway!

I've been flicking through those books I bought earlier.. Says baby should be able to hold head and shoulders up for a few seconds by three months - Rhys can do that now  (6 weeks old, 37 weeks gestational age) Is the book wrong or is Rhys just magic? :o

Right, I'd best go to bed.. Monster-in-law is gracing us with her presence tomorrow morning and I'm liable to snap at her at the best of times so best not add tiredness to the mix too! She's not been to see Rhys in three weeks - her reason? "Well he's not in danger anymore"... Bloody glory grandparent, or what?! Only interested when visiting her sick grandson makes her look good.. not interested now he's not in intensive care. What about actually wanting to bond with him and see how gorgeous he is now without the wires?! *sigh*

I think that's just a sort of 'if they can't do it by x weeks then you should worry'
Edgar can do it for about 5 seconds now and he's 3 weeks full term :)
    Rhys is still magic tho!!:D

My Grandpa hasn't seen Edgar yet - for no reason at all unless you count him being a funny booger  My Mum had to go and collect my Nan and bring her to see him even though he drives fine and has a car  it was the same with Chris - he was a few months i think when he first saw him

I am afriad the book is just wrong hun (sorry :o) by 3 months Benjamin was holding his head up for LONG periods of time. Actually by about 10 weeks we bought him a Bumbo and although he couldn't stay in there for a long time he could do 5 minutes with no problems.

I don't think Benjamin is that advanced :p

Edit - agree with Sami that Rhys is magic!!

No, I didn't think it was right.. even though Rhys is magic to me, I still didn't think he was that advanced! ;) I'm just glad he can do it, whenever he does it! :D

Might be worth checking some other stuff - it may have been £2 (?) for a reason ;)
You are probably best to just look what the milestones are and record when Rhys reaches them - I don't read books because I don't want to get worked up about what Benjamin is or isn't doing...

...but that's why I am always on here wibbling on about something or other :D
