Thanks...I looked in Asda the other day, it's usually always a safe bet, but my Asda had nothing, it was awful!!!

    x

Mel - is your Asda my Asda in Brom.? Its got a bit of a rubbish George section but its apparently getting an upstairs this year, like E.Port.
Anyhows - I discovered Broughton Retail Park today - have you been? Thats got a big Asda Home, with a whole ground floor of George. It had loads more kids/baby stuff and also had prams/highchairs and other baby equipment.

Hello to everyone else - i've not been on today, been out enjoying the sun and shopping. Got a top for my night out tomorrow, but will have to take it back and get a bigger one! Its crushing my baps, and that was straight after a big feed - so at the end of a night out with hard full baps - it'll be agony! :rotfl:

Going to try and catch up now. x

    dear all,

thanks for the thoughts on what the expensive part of having a larger family is.

Just one extra question, would people feel more inclined to have more when the govt increases SMP from 9 months to a full year, or is this just a drop in the ocean?

Mrs Tine, I'm a spreadsheet girl too, and a forward thinker! ;)

Ta very much for any thoughts,

    Weezl xxx
it wouldnt influence my decision to have more, but it would influence how long i stayed off work for! i cant afford to take the additional maternity leave cos there is no other help while you're on maternity leave, you cant claim income support or anything

feel free to say no, but may we please have a look at the budget, I do find that sort of thing really useful (not just a nosey parker :rotfl:)

erm... is baby number 2 imminent susan? Perhaps you should get DH to have extra olives on that there pizza ;)

    Love very cheeky Weezl x
    why olives?

To be honest I think that's probably a good reason TO do the training! I think it's important to be balanced, sensible and approachable! Therefore I could type a mini rant out but in the interests of not opening any cans of worms I'll keep my gob shut ;)

Thanks hun...but I think I would end up giving someone a gobfull :o
(I started to type more but deleted it in the interests of not opening said can of worms!!)

I got my bounty packs the afternoon after Edgar arrived

I got a 3 pack of rompers in tesco the other day £4 one is blue with 2 robots on the chest, one is white with brightly colour writing all over and other is white with brightly coloured robots all over.
I also have 2 from asda one is navy and grey stripes with a green dinosaur on the chest other is orange and grey stripy with a big dinosaur playing the guitar and says rock-a-saurus
and Chris has 2 from sainsbury's a red one with a big dog on the front and other is red navy and white stripes with a little dog on the chest
Any of those take your fancy? :D

oh and edgar has some lemony ones from next that were a bit pricey (obviously co its next!)

We have those without legs?? Kind of short-suits?
They are day-wear for Benjamin :D Although they are starting to strain at the neck :o

Mel - I picked up some lovely bright sleepsuits with snails on from Sainsburys yesterday. Benjamin is fascinated by patterns on his legs so he is going to LURRVVEE the white one which is covered in snails :D

    hi emlou,

have replied on your wall on FB :-)

    hi everyone :-)

CG - my thoughts are with you and your family xx

my thoughts on having another if the SMP increased to 12 months....like many others, would be a bonus, not a factor in making a decsion to have another baby.

MFD - after my experience, i think the approach you have to breastfeeding is what is needed. the woman i was talking to today said they are trying to get a more 'normal' approach to breastfeeding out to the public. go for it

i am not well...think i have a stomach bug or something xx

Sorry I'm not keeping up with the thread. My eyes are bad and I'm trying to limit PC time which isn't easy when my both work and uni involves using the PC and I'm addicted to forums and Facebook :o

So *hugs* to those who need them especially CG, *yay* to those celebrating, uuurrrgh at snakes and I'm not entitled to SMP so it doesn't bother me!
Here I go again on my own....

I hope that doesn't appear snappish, but I am sat here fuming actually. I live opposite a pub, which is generally a pretty nice place, there is never any fights or trouble and gets a complete mixed age range in there. But, come summer they all tend to stand outside all night shouting and blasting out music from cars...I have had to shut all the kids bedroom windows and there rooms Inc. Kai's are now 27C (80F)...the poor kids either have to sweat or get kept awake by a bunch of !!!!-heads!!!!!

    Mel x

Could you sneak in and open the kids windows when the pub kicks out?

It is currently 28c in Benjamins room  so I have just taken a little fan up for him to see if I can cool it down (obviously I didn't point it at him...even I am not that bad ;))

Me four! (Hey, I have to celebrate when I occasionally say something cleverish :D) If it helps mfd, I'm going to train to be a peer counsellor (just waiting for the venue, it might be a while!) and I agree with you and I would put money on that the peer counsellor at my booby group would too!

I'll help: Edgar, punching it doesn't help the milk out!

    Trying kneading instead *ducks*

I thought you were the number one MFD supporter ;) you can't fool me by voting twice LOL.

    By number one, I mean the first...not the best...or biggest...or whatever :o

    :silenced:

Edit: 3 - I actually did LOL at your baps...well not at them...but at your comments about them....LOL

No, my one is the E-Port one:D but the baby boy section is carp at the minute...or at least it was about a week ago when I went in:rolleyes:

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

I am VERY proud of you today lady ;)

Sorry to hear you are not well - hope you get better soon.

Benjamin went down with his favourite toy (a stuffed elephant that I only bought because I had been chatting to the owner of a new baby shop in the village and I thought I ought to buy something!!) and his dummy. He had spent about 15 minutes on a pillow on my lap 'cuddling' his elephant and and making tired talking noises to him before I tried to put him down.

He wrestled with his elephant a bit, then I held his arms down and shusshed for a minute and he closed his eyes and went to sleep :D

He has only been taking a dummy for about a week but it has been a real breakthough in terms of getting him to sleep (without a mouthful of boobage :o)

Sorry if this seems a bit detailed for those of you who put your babies down and close the door but it has been a big night for us and I think for others who are trying it helps to hear in detail what others are trying

    ...I hope :o

If you have a fan, then putting a dish of ice in front of it can help. Although that can be tricky if you have little fingers exploring their surroundings!

although now we're responsible grown ups I don't think we need our names in our clothes :rotfl:
There are plans for my dad to have a week of respite care (not sure if it is him getting respite from my mum, or t'other way round!) but he's got to have his name in all his clothes!

My name labels for the boys came from Cash's, and so did the ones my mum bought when we were little, and the ones my MIL bought when her boys were little. I still have some of the latter, she thought I might find them useful. :rotfl: I only ever bought one set for each boy and unpicked them and resewed them using my sewing machine. But for camps etc where they only needed their name in for a week, I either wrote in with a biro (tricky for black socks!) or got a rubber stamp made with our surname on. It washes out, but it's fine for a week or so.
We didn't buy Poppy a book but did get her a dolly which I also held and coo-ed over so she got used to me holding another 'baby'. And we dressed and fed dolly and now she has a pram for dolly :D.

Might not be as appropriate for Henry tho! ;)
I insisted that DS1 had a dolly before DS2 was born. She came with a dressing gown only, so my mum knitted lots of lovely clothes. Waste of time: all DS1 ever did with that doll was take her clothes OFF! :rotfl:
