My worry with ours is that they actually are supposed to be taking money for our usage outside our allowance from 8th may upto 7th june (billing date) and line rental from 7th June to 17th june (pac transfer date) but theyve cancelled their own DD then tried to take the money. Confusing or what!
Did anyone get paper bills for their final bill even if you were previously on paperless billing?0 -

Well, after 6 days of calling, with an avererage call time of 45mins, I finally have my PAC code. They stalled, they offered rubbish discounts, they promised they were getting the codes adn confirmations and would call back and never did. They tried telling me I was out of the 30 days as they had sent the text 13th June - they hadn't, I kept the text and it was the 28th May, they had no shame in admitting I was right. They tried telling me I didnt use the service enough - I was in Oz 3 times in 5mths for a total of 10weeks adn called my partner in the UK daily, plus I've travelled to Italy and Dubin numerous times since taking the contract a yr ago for the sole purpose of using 3 Like Home. They again admitted this was true but it took a further 3 days (of constant calls and arguments) to get the code. My partner is still having these troubles as he is at work and unable to spend the ENTIRE day calling and calling them. I will never ever ever even contemplate joining 3 again.

I have tried and failed to get anywhere, infact I give up at how often 3 have messed me about. Would it work if I sent them a letter/email saying due to a change of T&C ie 3LH I am cancelling my contract and then cancel my DD. Clearly if others have been cancelled there is a precedent set. Whats peoples opinions?
BTW 3 are without any doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with.0 -

I have a feeling you have to pay your final bill by means other than direct debit. I shouldn't worry, just sit tight and they'll send you a paper bill with instructions on how to pay it.
my final bill was just like the usual monthly bill but with a bank giro payment slip attached to the bottom.0 -
I wouldn't cancel you DD just yet as they'll probably put a bad mark against your credit record. Send them a recorded delivery letter to their REGISTERED office (if you check diamonds' previous posts you will find it). State that you expect PAC code to be generated immediately, and that you will only discuss this matter in writing. Say if they do not respond adequately within 14 days you will go to small claims court. That might get you your result.
I sent a letter using recorded signed-for to the Glasgow Customer Services address, and have received my PAC code (by text and letter) as well as a derisory retention offer (by phone).
I simply stated that due to the change in 3LH I was cancelling my contract under term 10.1d, that I understood that no cancellation fee would be charged, and I asked them to send me my PAC code.0 -
So, we both got our final bills yesterday stating that it was in fact our final bill and that the account was closed on 17th June (PAC transfer day). We only actually owe about half what we thought we would due to the partial line rental refund for June.
However at the bottom of the letter it states that we need not do anything as the money will be taken by DD on 8th July.
Will they set up a DD just for this payment? (seein as they already cancelled their own DD over a week ago)0 -

Have just had some success! I didn't receive any notification of 3LH ending so called them today to cancel (11 months into an 18 month contract). Took 3 departments 22 minutes in total and I have a text with my PAC! They didn't really even bother with a hard sell, a half-hearted attempt.
Will have to try and work out where to go now - have a horrible feeling 3 are still the best for me (light user, uses internet more than the phone!)0
